On Dec. 29 the wildly impressive Robert Griffin III will bring his newly-won Heisman Trophy to San Antonio to lead his Baylor Bears in the Alamo Bowl against the Washington Huskies. While Griffin’s Heisman win was unexpected — at least at the start of the season — he was certainly deserving despite the three losses his team suffered.

Ah, the pageantry that is the Meineke Car Care Bowl. Just so we are clear here, I am referring to the Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas that is at noon on Dec. 31 in Houston. NOT to the former Meineke Car Care Bowl that used to be in Charlotte and is now called the Belk Bowl.

College Bowl Game Handicapping: Coaching Changes
by Nicholas Tolomeo - 12/13/2011
There are 12 college football teams heading to their bowl games with some sort of coaching dilemma one-way or the other. There are the coaches who have already been fired but are permitted to coach in the bowl game, coordinators who have been elevated to interim coaches to replace a fired or departed coach, there are the teams with coaches looking for better jobs but stuck there for the time being, and then there are coaches who have already left for another school but will come back to coach in the bowl game.
College Bowl Game Handicapping: Motivation Key Factor
by Nicholas Tolomeo - 12/12/2011
Aside from the BCS National Championship Game and most of the BCS bowl games, motivation can be questioned for many of the bowl participants each college bowl season. Of course, there are a few teams who enter bowl season with a chip on their shoulder, but more often than not there are more teams exhibiting a lack of motivation in their bowl games.
How to Bet on College Football Bowl Games
by Nicholas Tolomeo - 12/10/2011
The College Football bowl season provides a number of challenges and opportunities for sports bettors but also unique factors for college football handicappers to consider. The long layoff, potential suspension of players, differing motivation, neutral fields, warmer weather, coaching rumors, live movements, and traveling fan bases, among other things, are all factors that need to be taken in equation that generally do not come up during the college football regular season.

by Nicholas Tolomeo - 12/9/2011
With the structure of the current bowl system college football fans are given a clear indication of how conferences truly stack up to one another. Bowl games are tied into deals with conferences. It has been this way for years and luckily for bettors this may be the easiest way in all of sports betting to track trends.

College Football Handicapping: Ranking the BCS Bowls
by T.O. Whenham - 12/7/2011
This isn’t rocket science. In fact, the title should really explain it — this is the order I would rank the five BCS games this year in terms of overall quality and excitement - both from a betting perspective and as a fan. (all college football odds are from 5Dimes):
College Bowl Betting: Best and Worst Bowl Games
by T.O. Whenham - 12/6/2011
It’s bowl season — one of my favorite times of year. While the college bowl game schedule is fresh in our minds it seems like a very good time to pick out the ones that jump out as the best and the worst of the games from the perspective of both a fan and a bettor. Here are five that really stand out as potentially great ones, and four that are almost certain to be terrible.
BCS Championship Game Odds: LSU vs. Alabama Point Spread and Line Movement
by T.O. Whenham - 12/5/2011
The odds have been set for the BCS Championship Game — the divisional rematch between the LSU Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide — and oddsmakers see this one as close. In fact, they couldn’t find it closer — 5Dimes is one of many books that has posted the game at or near ‘pick‘em’ in early action. The early totals line is listed at 39.5.
College Football Picks: Army vs. Navy Odds and Predictions
by Alan Matthews - 12/5/2011
It might not be the most-heated rivalry in college football, but many would make the argument that it’s the most storied when Army and Navy collide – it’s a game so important it gets the entire college weekend to itself. This year’s 112th meeting is at FedEx Field outside of Washington, D.C., the first time Army-Navy has been held in the Capital Beltway.
Updated College Bowl Game Projections and BCS Predictions
by Nicholas Tolomeo - 11/29/2011
Barring voter revolt, the SEC rematch between LSU and Alabama is set. Even if LSU loses to Georgia in the SEC Championship Game the Tigers will remain in the top two of the BCS standings based on their wins over No. 2 Alabama, No. 8 Arkansas and No. 9 Oregon.

by Nicholas Tolomeo - 11/23/2011
It might be feast week in college basketball, but it is also the second to last week of the college football regular season, also known as rivalry week. Some of the traditional college football rivalry games mean more than usual while some mean less than usual, but try telling the players and fan bases involved that some of these games do not matter in the grand scheme of things.

by T.O. Whenham - 11/22/2011
It’s yet another game of the century in this crazy college football season. This one has so many things riding on the outcome, with the BCS Championship Game at the top of that list. If LSU wins then they are just one win over Georgia in the SEC Championship away from their shot at the national title.
2011-12 College Bowl Projections and BCS Predictions
by Nicholas Tolomeo - 11/22/2011
Nearly all the dominoes have fallen into place and an SEC rematch is becoming more certain each day. LSU only needs to get past Arkansas at home and then win the SEC Championship against Georgia. Alabama visits Auburn in the Iron Bowl, which is far from a layup. If Arkansas can win in Death Valley the door opens for the Razorbacks to play for a title.
