College Football Betting: Top 10 Rivalry Games
by Robert Ferringo - 7/18/2012
According to the mouth-breathers that I am surrounded by in the Deep South, which is the heart of SEC Country and by extension the heart of the college football world, rivalry games are what set apart college football from all other sports.
College Football Handicapping: Best Revenge Games for 2012
by Robert Ferringo - 7/18/2012
Revenge is one of the best motivational angles that any college football handicapper can wager on. The added focus, the added energy, the added electricity from the crowd, and the added WANT can give a team a massive boost. And those intangibles, when accurately anticipated by someone betting on college football, can lead to a major profit on the gridiron.
2012 Wisconsin Badgers Football Predictions and Big Ten Futures Odds
by Alan Matthews - 7/18/2012
With all due respect to Ohio State, Michigan State, Michigan or any other Big Ten powers, the best program in the conference right now is in Madison, Wisconsin. Those other schools can’t claim back-to-back Big Ten titles and Rose Bowl berths like the Badgers can.
2012 Nebraska Cornhuskers Football Predictions and Big Ten Betting Odds
by Alan Matthews - 7/18/2012
Nebraska entered its first season in the Big Ten in 2011 as the preseason favorite in the Legends Division and a dark-horse national title contender – a Rose Bowl berth at a minimum was expected. Thus, last year has to be called a disappointment as Nebraska finished 5-3 in the Big Ten, good for third in the division, and 9-4 overall after losing handily to South Carolina in the Capital One Bowl.
2012 Missouri Tigers Football Predictions and BCS Futures Odds
by David Schwab - 7/18/2012
The Missouri Tigers decided to take the plunge in an effort to upgrade their football program by defecting from the Big 12 to play in the ultra-competitive SEC. Hopefully they will not live to regret this decision in the long run, but it is probably safe to say that season will be a bumpy ride.
2012 Kansas Jayhawks Football Predictions and Big 12 Futures Odds
by David Schwab - 7/18/2012
The Kansas Jayhawks football program closed out the 2009 season with seven-straight losses after winning their first five games. They never seemed to recover from this free fall with a 3-9 record in 2010 and an even more dismal 2-10 campaign in 2011 that included a 0-9 record in the Big 12. While Kansas has nowhere to go but up this season, the prospect for any kind of dramatic turnaround remains cloudy at best.
2012 Indiana Hoosiers Football Predictions and Big Ten Conference Odds
by Adam Richard - 7/16/2012
The University of Indiana has long been known for its basketball legacy and the football team has done nothing to alter that perception. Indiana has had only one winning season (7-6 in 2007) since the start of the century. Last season, Indiana was the only BCS team to not defeat an FBS opponent. The lone victory for the Hoosiers was against South Carolina State on Sept 17.
2012 Florida Gators Football Predictions and Betting Odds
by Alan Matthews - 7/13/2012
I’m starting to think it was Tim Tebow and not Urban Meyer who made the Florida Gators the nation’s premier program from the 2006-09 seasons. In that stretch, with Tebow as the full-time starter in three of those seasons (Chris Leak was the official starter in ’06), the Gators won two national titles and a Sugar Bowl, played in three SEC Championship Games (winning two) and went a combined 48-7. The Gators didn’t lose to Florida State in any of those four seasons and blew the Noles out in three of them.
2012 Georgia Bulldogs Football Predictions and SEC Betting Picks
by Alan Matthews - 7/13/2012
If you disregard their first two games and final two games, 2011 was a rousing success for the Georgia Bulldogs. Unfortunately, this isn’t a dream world. Calls for Head Coach Mark Richt’s head were very loud after the Dawgs opened with losses to Boise State and South Carolina, both home games – although the Boise game was technically in Atlanta.
2012 Auburn Tigers Football Predictions and SEC Betting Odds
by Alan Matthews - 7/13/2012
If you didn’t see Auburn’s fall from grace last season, you just weren’t paying any attention. Of course, the Tigers won the National Championship in 2010 behind superstar quarterback Cam Newton, the Heisman Trophy winner, and stud defensive tackle Nick Fairley, the Lombardi Award winner. Pretty much everything went right that year, including a stunning comeback over Alabama in the Iron Bowl.
2012 Tennessee Volunteers Football Predictions and BCS Championship Futures Odds
by Alan Matthews - 7/13/2012
When is a 5-7 overall record and a 1-7 last-place mark in the SEC a reason for optimism? When you have a whopping 20 starters returning the following season. Indeed, the 2012 Tennessee Volunteers do have 20 starters back if you include both kickers. That is tied for the second-most in the nation.
2012 Iowa Hawkeyes Football Predictions and Futures Odds
by Adam Richard - 7/13/2012
Iowa beat up on all of its weaker opponents last season. The Hawkeyes only real quality win of the season came in a big home victory against Michigan. Iowa finished with a 7-5 record. The Hawkeyes were completely overmatched against the faster, more powerful and more athletic Oklahoma Sooners in the Insight Bowl and lost, 31-14.
2012 Oregon State Beavers Football Predictions and BCS Futures Odds
by David Schwab - 7/13/2012
The addition of Colorado and Utah last season expanded the Pac-12 into two separate divisions, the North and the South. In the first season competing in the North Division, Oregon State only managed to win three conference games verses six losses and ended the regular season a disappointing 3-9 overall. The only team with less conference wins in the division was Washington State with two. It was the Beavers second straight losing campaign.
2012 Arizona State Sun Devils Football Predictions and BCS Futures Odds
by David Schwab - 7/13/2012
The Arizona State Sun Devils finished under .500 in two of the last three seasons, including a 6-7 overall record last season and a 4-5 record in conference play that marked an end to Dennis Erickson’s five-year tenure as head coach in which his teams went a combined 31-30. Arizona State lost its final four regular season games and fittingly went down in flames in the MAACO Car Care Bowl with a 56-24 loss to Boise State.
2012 Purdue Boilermakers Football Predictions and Futures Odds
by Adam Richard - 7/12/2012
The Purdue Boilermakers finished last season with winning record for the first time since 2007 when Curtis Painter and Dustin Keller led the offense. The current Purdue roster is built around breakaway speed and crafty quarterback play.
College Football: Top 10 Nonconference Matchups
by Robert Ferringo - 7/11/2012
The NCAA presidents recently voted in favor of a four-team playoff system starting in 2014 that will allegedly decide, once and for all, whom the champion of college football is. For most of the mouth-breathing, PBR-drinking college football fan base this news was long overdue and seen as the cure for all that ails their beloved sport.

by T.O. Whenham - 7/9/2012

Here are five totals that stand out as particularly interesting upon first glance with some odds and predictions for betting:
2012 Minnesota Golden Gophers Football Predictions and Futures Odds
by Adam Richard - 7/9/2012
Last season, Minnesota headlines were more focused on its newly-appointed Head Coach Jerry Kill’s health problems. In the fourth quarter of its second game of the season, Minnesota was attempting to drive down the football field for a game-tying touchdown, when Kill flailed on the sideline grass with an epileptic seizure.
2012 Michigan Wolverines Predictions and College Football Futures Odds
by Alan Matthews - 7/6/2012
Maybe Rich Rodriguez really was the problem. Of course, the University of Michigan hired Rich-Rod to great fanfare to replace Lloyd Carr as head coach for the 2008 season and finally bring the spread offense to the Big Ten. Well, the offense was fine under Rodriguez but the defense and special teams were terrible and he was fired before last season after going 15-22.
2012 Clemson Tigers Predictions and College Football Futures Odds
by Alan Matthews - 7/6/2012
OK, off the top of your head can you name the Atlantic Coast Conference football champion from last season? Virginia Tech? Logical guess considering the Hokies have played in the ACC title game every year but one, but no -- although Tech did at least play in the Sugar Bowl last season, finally giving the ACC two BCS bowl teams. How about Florida State? Nope, Seminoles haven’t won the conference since 2005, the year of the first ACC Championship Game. Miami? No, the Hurricanes have never even reached the conference title game.
