Hot and Cold NBA Betting Teams ATS and Over Under 3/25/2025

There are just 10 games left in the NBA regular season, and time is running out for playoff hopefuls to make a late dash up the NBA standings. Over the last few weeks, certain teams have been able to defy the odds, while others have fallen short against the spread. Here are the hottest and coldest teams in the NBA, with the highest and lowest scorers.
Doc’s Sports offers NBA picks for every game on our NBA predictions page.
The Hot:
Oklahoma City Thunder
The Oklahoma City Thunder have been the best team in the league this season, and they have also been the most consistent at covering the spread. In the last 10 games, the Thunder have gone 9-1 straight up and covered the spread in all their victories. The oddsmakers have struggled to accurately create spreads for the Thunder all season, and they also have the best against the spread record in the league with a 44-24-4 showing. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the MVP favorite, and it appears the award will be heading North of the border for the second time in league history if the Canadian superstar can keep up his momentum. The Thunder have been on fire not only straight up, but against the spread too. They covered -20.5 and -12 point spreads against the Hornets and 76ers, and have been favorites in all but three games this season. The Thunder keep covering spreads regardless of how high the oddsmakers put the spread, and this is a trend that will not be changing anytime soon. The Thunder are a young group capable of riding their momentum to Game 82, and do not hesitate to follow the best money makers in the league this season.
Chicago Bulls:
The Bulls have gone 9-1 against the spread and 8-2 straight up in the last 10 games, all but solidifying their place in the Eastern Conference play-in tournament. The Bulls were on the road for 8 of their last 10 games and have been far more consistent away from home than in the comfort of the Windy City. They have gone 13-22 at home compared to 19-18 on the road this season. Chicago gets the benefit of underdog point spreads on the road, but they keep finding ways to win those games with road victories over the Nuggets, Lakers, Kings, Heat, Jazz, and Magic over the last two weeks. The Bulls collected future assets at the NBA trade deadline, but the remaining players didn’t get the memo that the Bulls were supposed to start losing games. Chicago has been one of the most consistent teams on the road this season and will continue to be a great team to tail in the underdog role away from home.
The Cold:
Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizzlies have been one of the most resilient teams after countless injuries over the last season and a half, but it appears the injury bug has finally caught up to them. The Grizzlies have gone 2-8 against the spread and 5-5 straight up in the last 10 games. Ja Morant remains sidelined, yet the Grizzlies kept getting sizable spreads regardless of the venue. Teams generally don’t care about the spread, only the results, but shaky performances against teams like the Jazz and Pelicans will trouble the franchise with the playoffs right around the corner. When Morant returns to the lineup, the Grizzlies will start cashing spreads again, but stay away from them in the favorite role until that happens.
Indiana Pacers:
The Pacers are on fire, with 7 wins in their last 10 games to vault them up to 4th place in the Eastern Conference. They have won five straight games, but that hasn’t translated to against the spread success. The Pacers needed every point to beat the Nets (x2), Mavericks, Bucks, and 76ers over the last two weeks, all of which were victories where the Pacers did not cover the spread. Indiana will be thankful they have been able to pull out wins in the clutch, but that is not necessarily a good omen with the playoffs quickly approaching. Indiana has struggled to pull away from the weaker teams in the league, and there will be no easy matchups for the Pacers with their first-round opponent almost certainly being the Bucks or Pistons. The Pacers need to shore things up on the defensive end of the court, but there is no reason this trend should continue into the final weeks of the season. The Pacers aren’t a team you will want to lay a boatload of points with. However, if the spread is short, the Pacers will probably find a way to eke out a victory.
High Scorers:
Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks have been cashing Overs left and right, with a 9-1 record on the total over their last 10 games. Rather than thanking consistent offensive showings, the finger will be pointed at the dreadful defense in Dallas. The Mavericks have been without Irving, Davis, Washington, Gafford, and Lively for the last few weeks, and the lack of big men has left them exposed on the interior. They have allowed 117 or more points in 9 of their last 10 games, yet their totals have been hovering in the high 220s. The return of Anthony Davis from injury will shore up the Mavericks defense, and this may be a great time to sell high on the Over and start tailing the Under with the Mavericks now that Davis is healthy.
Philadelphia 76ers:
The 76ers season could not have gone worse. They currently have 98% of their payroll on the injury report and will not even make the play-in tournament despite having Embiid, George, and Maxey on their roster. Their defense has completely fallen apart, as the 76ers have gone over the total in 8 of their last 10 games. They have lost 8 of their last 9 games and have been the biggest disappointment this year. Their rotating squad of prospects, which features Justin Edwards as the primary offensive option, has been able to score, but their defense has been suspect. The oddsmakers are hesitant to push the 76ers totals into the 230s, but that is where they belong considering their fast pace of play and lack of transition defense.
Low Scorers:
New York Knicks
The Knicks offense is not the same without Jalen Brunson on the court, and they have been under machines in his absence. Brunson sprained his ankle on March 6th in an overtime loss to the Lakers, and the Knicks have gone under the total in 7 of their last 10 games. They have gone 4-6 straight up in that span, as their defense has been able to steal a couple of games. However, New York’s offense is flat without Brunson, yet the oddsmakers are hesitant to drop their totals to where they belong. New York has seen both teams score 110 or more points just once in their last 10 games, and that was an overtime game against the Kings. The Knicks have looked to slow down the pace whenever possible, and the Unders will keep cashing as long as Brunson remains on the shelf.
Utah Jazz:
The Jazz have certainly fallen short of expectations this season, but they have been tanking since the end of 2024, so they will not care. They have struggled on the offensive end as they continue to rest Lauri Markkanen, Walker Kessler, and Jordan Clarkson. The Jazz have stayed under the total in 7 of their last 10 games and have gone 1-9 straight up in that span. Their poor defense has seen their totals stay in the 230s, but their lackluster offense has resulted in countless Unders. Utah has no incentive to start winning games anytime soon, but it is too hard to tell what team you will get on a nightly basis to consistently tail the Over or Under. Staying away from Jazz games is the best course of action, as this team is already licking their lips at the possibility of drafting Cooper Flagg.
