Who Will Be the Last NFL Winless Team? Odds and Betting Predictions
Recently, we covered some betting odds and predicted which team would be the last to lose a game in the 2024 regular season. Today, let's flip that one over and do our best to predict which NFL team will be the last to record a win.
Will it be the New England Patriots? I was high on the idea of Jacoby Brissett. He has since stunk up the preseason, and it looks like Drake Maye will be under center from Week 1. The rookie from North Carolina has looked decent in preseason games so far.
Surprisingly, the Minnesota Vikings are the next team down the list, with betting odds of (+750) to be the NFL's last winless team. I believe the sporsbooks agree they aren't the second-worst team in the league. It's their eerie early schedule.
I tried to include betting odds from any team I thought could be so unfortunate to win this bet for us. The New Orleans Saints at 20-1 are already tempting me. Let's check the betting odds on some of the league's least and make some predictions from there.

Who Will Be the Last NFL Winless Team? The Odds:
New England Patriots: +550
The previously mentioned Pats are going to surprise some people this year. They still kept a lot of the systems of former head coach Bill Belichick. They finally let the legend go, and now we welcome ourselves to the Jerod Mayo era in New England.
Other than hosting the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2, the Pats are primed for this honor as they will be playing primarily postseason-bound teams until November. I am high on them to play better than expected, but their early schedule is brutal.
Minnesota Vikings: +750
I liked both signings, but it looks like Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold is in better form to have a productive season than Brissett. Minnesota is loaded at some positions and not others, but I like Darnold to whip it around enough for this team to overachieve.
They travel to New York to play the Giants in Week 1. If they lose that game, it’s ugly for a while. Let’s give them that win, though, and move on to higher-paying betting odds.
Carolina Panthers: +800
The Carolina Panthers head south to play division rival New Orleans in Week 1. They are currently (+176) on the moneyline for an implied probability of 36%. We have to give the Saints that W. From there, I was hoping the Panthers would have a gauntlet, but games against the Raiders, Commanders, and Broncos over their next 6.
Denver Broncos: +900
I was selling the Denver Broncos hard before Bo Nix looked like a 3rd-year starter under head coach Sean Payton this preseason. The Broncos have a favorable early schedule as well.
Tennessee Titans: +900
The Tennessee Titans open up against the team that looked the best this preseason, the Chicago Bears. Las Vegas has this one lined at (+190) for Will Levis to lead his team to victory in Chi-town. Levis has a rifle for an arm and isn't short on confidence. I think the Bears find a way to win, but it plays out closer than expected.
From there, we finally have a difficult schedule out of the gate for one of the league’s worst teams. It’s rocky until they play the Pats in Week 8. I would love to be holding tickets for each team at that point.
Best Bets
New England Patriots: +550
I like a bet here on the Pats here. Their defense will keep them in games, but experience at quarterback will win said games for the opponent.
Minnesota Vikings: +700
This one is just a sprinkle for me. This team is too talented to be held down for longer than a month or so. We are betting on the schedule here.
Tennessee Titans: +900
After the front office let go of former head coach Mike Vrabel, I lost all confidence in the Titans. Letting go of Travis Henry is what it is. He is an aging back, but this team will forever regret how they did Vrabel, who is truly an elite NFL head coach.
