PGA Props Picks: Sanderson Farms Predictions
You won't see world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler in the field this week, nor will you hear Xander Schauffele's name. There is no Rory McIlroy. That's alright, though. Anytime Scheffler shows up, he has a chance to steal a victory away from us. Also, betting on him at barely 3-1 odds isn't the answer, either. We may have to lean on some of the few PGA Tour regulars in the field this week, as trying to sort through all the young talent is futile.
This week's Sanderson Farms Championship marks the first tournament of what the cool kids around the clubhouse are calling the "FedEx Cup Fall." With the PGA Tour reverting to a year-round schedule, they've added quite a bit of significance to these Fall events. There will be more money involved, and this season provides an invaluable opportunity for those looking for the two-year exemption that comes with a PGA Tour win and maybe even punch their ticket to a major down the road.
The game is getting younger and younger every year. Who will be the next Scheffler or Collin Morikawa?
It's not all youth in this field, though. There are some golfers in the field that you may recognize, like Lucas Glover, Matt Kuchar, and C.T. Pan.
Without a massive talent gap from top to bottom, picking a winner here at the Sanderson Farms may prove futile. Instead, we have some fun and interesting prop bets for your betting pleasure.

J.J. Spaun (-120) vs Ben Griffin (+100)
Since the end of June, John Jr. Spaun has been playing his best golf of the year by a country mile. Steadily finishing in the 40s and 50s for most of the season if he even made the cut, Spaun has cards of 3rd, 9th, 25th, and 10th over his last four starts against legit competition.
His game of strong drives with spotty accuracy pairs well with a Bermudagrass preference that has served him well.
On the other side, Chapel Hill native/alum Ben Griffin is a well-rounded golfer. However, he lacks power off the tee. The course fit isn’t there. That’s why we’ve seen some money already come in on Spaun.
Pick: Spaun (-120)
Lucas Glover Top 20 Finish: +275
South Carolina's Glover is nearly double the age of half of the golfers in this field. It's a good thing this isn't fighting or football, because at 44 in sports, don't the let the door…Well, you know the rest. This is golf, though, and Glover brings several intangibles with him this weekend that most of this field doesn't have.
Glover had a nice stretch during the middle of the year, where he averaged 20th over seven tournaments. If he can return to that form at Sanderson Farms, he might take home the trophy. We only need a fraction of that for him to cash a top-20 bet in this field. His current form is solid, with a 13th-place finish in his most recent PGA Tour appearance a few weeks ago.
Pick: Glover Top 20

Top Asian
C.T. Pan: +300
Kevin Yu: +300
Rico Hoey: +600
Ryo Hisatsune: +600
K.H. Lee: +600
S.H. Kim: +750
Carl Yuan: +850`
I’m not going to overthink this one. Take the best golfer out of the bunch, Pan, to prevail as the top Asian performer this week. Kevin Yu is the only golfer in this group who can hold a candle to his skill and experience, and Yu hasn’t finished inside the top 50 in more than three months.
Pan, a native of Taiwan, like Yu, has some of the best course history here at Sanderson Farms than anyone in the field.
Over his previous four starts, Pan has finishes of 12th, 11th, and 9th. Let's hope his approach shots and putts are as precise as his course history.
Pick: C.T. Pan
