PGA Props Picks: RBC Heritage Predictions
Wow, so there is Scottie Scheffler and everybody else. After a 4-stroke dominant win down in Augusta at The Masters this past weekend, the 27-year-old from New Jersey is on top of the world, and it's only getting better.
Scheffler had stated that he was prepared to pack it in at The Masters should his wife go into labor with their first child. Fortunately, she hasn't popped yet. However, what does that mean for betting on him or against him this week?
We have a surprisingly strong field this week at the RBC Heritage on the beautiful and classy Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, at the exquisite Harbour Town Golf Links. It won't be all fun and games, however. This course is more Carolina than coastal, meaning we will see tree-lined dog-legging fairways that lead to dome-shaped greens.
Harbour Town was the 19th most difficult course out of 50 on the PGA Tour in 2023. We will see who has kept their focus from the big weekend. Some golfers may not be competing as hard this week, whether they know it or not.
Let’s get to some interesting prop bets and predictions for the RBC Heritage.

Matchups
Scottie Scheffler (-229) vs Rory McIlroy (+188)
Wow, they really want us to take McIlroy here. We chased Jon Rahm vs Scheffler last week with shorter betting odds, and that didn't work out.
Do we really bet against Scheffler again, ever? It may be the best time to, at the least, get some positive value on our money if we were to bet against him.
Spread
Scheffler: -1.5 (-188)
McIlroy: +1.5 (+147)
Scheffler coming off of his second Masters win combined with the fact that his wife could go into labor any day now, gives us another out. There is still a ton of plus money for McIlroy if we give ourselves one more out with the (+1.5) at (+147).
All we need is for Scheffler to start the 1st round of the tournament and if he exits at any time, we cash.
I can't believe I am saying this, but it's a value play all the way on McIrlroy (+1.5).
Pick: McIlroy: +1.5 (+147)
Russell Henley (-120) vs Shane Lowry (+100)
The last bet was for value and the extra outs. For this bet, we have a personality play. On his best day, Ireland's Shane Lowry is as good as anyone in the world not named Scheffler.
He is a classic case, though, of a guy who shows up to compete as he pleases. I will never forget his Open Championship win at the highly respected yet rugged Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland. The conditions there were horrendous, and this guy played through it with ease.
We said “On his best day”, though, and I don’t see Lowry coming to compete this week after he played four rounds only to finish 43rd at The Masters. It’s simply not his style.
In the same tee box, we have Russell Henley. The native of Macon, Georgia will still be in his backyard, where he has finishes of 9th and 19th over his previous three appearances at the RBC Heritage.
He finished one stroke ahead of Lowry last week at 39th. Both golfers are hot, and they both play this course well.
Spread
Henley: -1.5 (+112)
Lowry: +1.5 (-144)
I will steer clear of the spread in this spot. It doesn't offer much more value. These small juice spots are money in golf matchup betting. It's not always true, but the books want you to take the plus money.
Pick: Henley (-120)
Tommy Fleetwood (-115) vs Patrick Cantlay (-105)
Normally, I limit myself to just two matchup bets per week, but when I saw this, I couldn't refuse. How on earth is another flake, Tommy Fleetwood, a slight betting favorite over Patrick Cantlay?
Cantlay, in his previous 6 starts at the RBC, has finished 3rd place three times as well as 7th and 2nd place. He hasn't been his usual self as of late, but he's still striking the ball well and maintaining his accuracy.
Fleetwood is streaky, and he is undoubtedly hot right now, coming off of a 3rd place finish this past weekend. Cantlay played well also, wrapping up Sunday's play 22nd in the field.
Spread
Fleetwood: -1.5 (+117)
Cantlay: +1.5 (-150)
I like the (+1.5) here on Cantlay. I know the price is juiced up to (-150). Let’s hope it’s worth the squeeze.
Pick: Cantlay: +1.5 (-150)
Top 20 Finish Parlay
Xander Schauffele/Ludvig Aberg/Will Zalatoris: +440
Lastly, I wanted to give you guys a bet that could put us clean in the green, even if we lose all three of the other plays.
Xander Schauffele is one of the best golfers on the PGA Tour. He has finishes of 2nd, 5th, and 8th in his previous three, as well as coming in 6th place at the RBC Heritage last year.
As long as the San Diego kid doesn’t take his foot off the gas this week, he should cruise to a top-20 finish.
Our 2nd leg, Ludvig Aberg of Norway, has an average finishing position of 11th over his previous 7 starts on Tour.
Will Zalatoris is coming off of a top-10 finish at The Masters and has placings of 2nd, 3rd, and 12th over his previous 6 starts.
Let's hope these three can keep their focus throughout the four rounds of golf at the RBC Heritage.
Pick: Schauffele/Aberg/Zallatoris Top 20 Parlay
