PGA Props Picks: FedEx St. Jude Championship Predictions
After the most forgetful week on the PGA Tour in Greensboro, where we saw horrible weather and an even uglier field of golfers, it's all of a sudden playoff time. The FedEx Cup Playoffs begin this week with the St Jude Championship from the barbecue capital of the world, Memphis, Tennessee.
The field is obviously loaded with the game’s best golfers. Leading the way atop the betting board is the newest Olympic Gold Medalist in men’s golf, the #1 ranked player in the world, Scottie Scheffler. You can take the Jersey native to win. However, ever since his mid-season surge, his payouts have plummeted.
Xander Schauffele is another American who cashed for us in the Olympics. The 2024 Masters winner is available for 8-1 to win the tournament outright.
Unless your strategy is to only target Scheffler and Schauffele, picking a winner in golf is incredibly difficult. Even if you pick several winners for the year, you’re still losing at least 80% of the time.
If you want to lose that much, start training Jiu Jitsu. If you want to win at least one bet every week, then follow this article. We are focused on some fun and interesting props, including parlays and matchups.
Let’s tee off on the props for the FedEx St Jude Championship.

Matchup
Ludvig Aberg vs Tommy Fleetwood
Ludvig Aberg and Tommy Fleetwood each came through for us less than two weeks ago at the Olympics. The former did struggle, though, quite a bit more than the latter.
Aberg is young, and this will be his first time playing the course in a competition. I can't make the point that he's a Nordic guy and could suffer tremendously in the weather this week. There's no sea breeze, and deathly humid, hot, and muggy conditions are expected. We are looking at highs close to the triple digits, with humidity soaring to 70% for most of the time.
I say that because Fleetwood is from England. He is much more well-traveled, though.
Moneyline
Aberg: +100
Fleetwood: -120
I really don’t mind paying this little bit of juice to get Fleetwood on the moneyline to outplay Aberg. The Brit was 3rd here last year and finished 4th in 2019.
Spread
Aberg: +1.5 (-132)
Fleetwood: -1.5 (+110)
The .30 cents isn’t worth a stroke to me.
Pick: Fleetwood Moneyline (-120)
Top 20
Sepp Straka: +175
Sepp Straka is a popular pick this week, and for good reason. I already had him circled as someone I was targeting. And after multiple experts concurred, a top 20 play here on Straka seemed like the right fit.
Last year wasn't a good outing here at the St Jude for the Austrian, as he finished 63rd. The year prior, however, he was the runner-up.
Straka is an autoplay on Bermudagrass. The guy is one of the best on the PGA Tour and is our best bet of the week to finish inside that top 20.
Pick: Straka Top 20 (+175)
Top 10 Parlay
Collin Morikawa/Billy Horschel: +500
Collin Morikawa is officially out of his lengthy slump and playing some of the best golf of his young career. He isn’t winning much, but the Californian has an average finishing position of 11th over his previous 7 starts.
Morikawa has solid course history here at St Jude as well, with finishes of 5th and 13th in his last two starts.
Billy Horschel is getting up there at 37 years old. However, I have the Florida native functioning just fine in the funky weather. He crushes this tournament, too, with 5 top 10 finishes in his previous 9 starts.
His recent form is even better than Morikawa's. The old man is coming off of a 2nd place finish, as well as clocking 7th last week. Historically, the winners here have been in excellent form. I love this play for a 5-1 payout!
Pick: Morikawa/Horshel Top 10 Parlay (+500)
