NBA Player Props for Wednesday, February 14th

Brace yourselves for another big night of NBA action on Valentine’s Day with our carefully chosen prop bets. With a lot of basketball to digest and research to be had, we have your back. Our picks went 2-2 last week (11-8 overall) and we will try and improve on that mark this week. This is the last full slate of games, with 13 in total, before the NBA All-Star break this weekend. Doc’s Sports will break down some of tonight’s best plays on the hardwood with our Valentine’s Day edition of props.

Trae Young, Hawks, OVER 34.5 points + assists (-130)

Young has a dream matchup tonight against the Charlotte Hornets. I am targeting his points and assists combo total with a subpar Hornets defense. He is averaging 35 combined points and assists per game over his last five games. Young combined for 49 against the 76ers and 37 against the Clippers. He flirted with this total in his last game, combining for 33 against the Chicago Bulls. With the potential of 10+ assists on any night and his three-point shooting ability, look for Young to clear this total tonight against Charlotte.

Buddy Hield, 76ers, OVER 27.5 points + rebounds + assists (-110)

Hield has been very good since being acquired by the 76ers. They take on a Miami Heat squad that could be without Jimmy Butler. The 76ers have their own injury problems, with Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris out for an extended period of time. Hield has cleared this total in his last three games. He combined for 36 against the Cavs, 34 against the Wizards, and 30 vs. the Hawks. His assists numbers have been up, averaging a little over six assists in his last four games. With the injuries to the 76ers, Hield will be relied on more to rebound against Bam Adebayo and company tonight. Look for Hield to clear this number into the 30’s.

Jalen Brunson, Knicks, OVER 29.5 points (-125)

I am targeting Brunson to drop 30+ points tonight against the Orlando Magic. The Knicks have hit a three-game skid and have lost four of their last five overall. Brunson scored 27 against the Rockets, 39 against the Pacers, sat out against the Mavericks, 27 against Memphis, and 36 against the Lakers. Look for Brunson to take control of the game to get a Knicks victory heading into the break. Take the over on his point total.

Alex Caruso, Bulls, OVER 3.5 rebounds (-110)

This rebound total is too low in my opinion for a guard that has been decent at rebounding the rock. He is averaging 3.8 boards per game but has averaged 6.2 rebounds per contest over his last five games. He pulled down eight boards in his last game against the Orlando Magic and nine against the Minnesota Timberwolves. With Zach LaVine out for the season, Caruso will also see an uptick in minutes played. Look for Caruso to clear the 3.5 total and reach at least five rebounds tonight against the Cavs.

Deni Avdija, Wizards, OVER 14.5 points (-115)

The Washington Wizards take on the New Orleans Pelicans, and I am targeting Avdija’s point total in this one. He has seen at least 34 minutes of action in three straight contests and taken 41 total shots over that span. He has cleared 20 points in four of his last five games and has cleared this 14.5 total in five of his last six games. He has been aggressive over that span, attacking the hoop averaging 12 drive points per game. With the over/under set at 235.5, expect there to be a ton of points and for Avdija to clear this total.
