Brace yourselves for another big night of NBA action with our carefully chosen prop bets. With a lot of basketball to digest and research to be had, we have your back. Our picks went 2-3 last week (7-4 overall) and we will try and keep momentum on our side. Doc’s Sports will break down some of tonight’s best plays on the hardwood.

Donovan Mitchell, Cavs, OVER 27.5 points (-115)

Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers take on the six-win Detroit Pistons at home on Wednesday night. Cleveland’s offense starts with Mitchell, who is averaging 27.7 points per game on the season. Over his last 10 games played, he has surpassed this total five times, including in each of his last two games. He dropped 32 points against the Milwaukee Bucks and 28 against the Los Angeles Clippers. I am confident Mitchell can pass this total for a third straight game in a juicy home matchup.

Nikola Jokic, Nuggets, OVER 26.5 points (-120)

In what should be a great matchup between the Denver Nuggets (33-15) and the Oklahoma City Thunder (32-15), these are the games that Jokic takes over. The Joker heads into this contest averaging 26.3 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 9.0 assists per game. He is 10th in the NBA in field goal percentage at 58.5% and shooting 35.8% from beyond the arc. Taking the over for Jokic’s point total is as safe a bet as they come.

DeMar DeRozan, Bulls, OVER 23.5 points (-120)

This is one of my favorite bets of the day, mainly due to the injury of Zach Levine. Chicago’s shooting forward will be shouldering a lot more responsibility on the offensive side of the ball, and this total should be closer to 26.5 for the over/under. DeRozan is leading the Bulls in scoring with 22.1 points per game while shooting 46.8% from the floor and 33.3% from three-point land. If he can attack the rim and draw fouls -- he shoots 84.5% from the free throw line -- he should make this an easy number to hit tonight in the second part of a back-to-back games on Wednesday.

Brandon Ingram, Pelicans, OVER 20.5 points (-120)

The former Duke product is averaging 21.4 points per game this season while logging 33 minutes a contest. Ingram usually plays well historically against the Houston Rockets, and we are backing him to keep his momentum rolling. In 22 career games against Houston, he is averaging 22.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. The Rockets allow 21.7 points per contest to opposing shooting guards, and we are looking for Ingram to exploit his height advantage over potential defender Jalen Green. Ingram has scored 26+ points in three of his last six games. Back Ingram to drop at least 21 points tonight.

Wendell Carter Jr., Magic, OVER 7.5 rebounds (-110)

This is a solid matchup for Carter Jr. to grab at least eight boards tonight against the Spurs. Injuries have been the downfall of the big man. However, when healthy, he has demonstrated the ability to dominate the boards and score underneath. San Antonio allows the third-most rebounds per game to opposing centers this season. He has also pulled down at least eight boards in five of the last six games. Look for Carter Jr. to eat on the glass tonight against the Spurs.

James Harden, Clippers, OVER 9.5 assists (+100)

I am willing to take a stab on Harden’s assist total for even money on Wednesday night against the Washington Wizards. Harden had a rocky start to his Clippers tenure, but they have gelled together and are currently fourth in the Western Conference. He is averaging 17.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 8.6 assists per game this season. Harden’s 8.6 assists per game is good for fifth overall in the NBA per game and the Wizards allow the second-most assists per game to opposing point guards this season. Take Harden to reach double-digit assists tonight.
