Our picks went 5-1 last week and we will try and keep momentum on our side. Doc’s Sports will break down some of tonight’s best plays on the hardwood.

Stephen Curry, Warriors, OVER 28.5 points (-130)

Tragedy struck the Golden State Warriors last week when assistant coach Dejan Milojevic passed away due to a heart attack. The Warriors have not played since, and the organization will honor him before the game with a tribute. I fully expect a highly-motivated home performance from Golden State and that starts with future Hall of Famer Steph Curry. He is averaging 26.7 points a game, and I am looking for him to hit 30+ with ease tonight. The Hawks will be without their best player in Trae Young, and Atlanta will be playing for the fourth time in six days. Look for the Hawks defense to be sluggish and struggle, while the Warriors should be full of energy.

Vince Williams Jr., Grizzlies, OVER 12.5 points (-120)

In the past five games, Williams Jr. has been averaging close to 35 minutes a contest and has cleared this total in four out of those five games. The Miami Heat have given up the seventh most points to the shooting guard position, and I expect Williams to take full advantage. He is coming off an 18-point performance against the Raptors, where he shot 7-for-11 from the floor. Take the over tonight.

Luke Kennard, Grizzlies, UNDER 15.5 points (-105)

Riding high on Grizzlies’ Williams Jr. and fading Kennard. Even though he has been averaging 17 points over the past three games, I am making this pick strictly on history. The Heat have been able to contain and suffocate the left-handed shooter in the past. In Miami’s last four games against Kennard, he is averaging only 11 points, which falls below the 15.5 threshold. I think the Heat defense continues to make him struggle shooting the rock.

Grayson Allen, Suns, OVER 2.5 three-pointers made (+100)

I will take a chance at this total for even money on a Suns role player against a Mavs defense that has been struggling of late. Allen cleared this total on Monday night against the Bulls, shooting 3-for-4 from deep. He has already cleared this total against Dallas on Christmas, as the former Duke Blue Devil erupted for 32 points and drained eight three-pointers. I doubt Allen repeats his success from Christmas, but the Mavericks will be busy with Devin Booker, KD, and Bradley Beal, which leaves plenty of looks for Allen.

Donovan Mitchell, Cavs UNDER 7.5 assists (+114)

Mitchell has hit his assists over total in four straight games but would only be 2-2 if the total was 7.5 in each of those four games. His 13 dimes against the Magic in his last game inflated this total, and I am looking for him to drop back to earth against the Bucks on Wednesday night. The strength of Milwaukee’s defense is the interior, so I do not expect easy lob passes to Jarrett Allen. I also doubt Sam Merrill hits every three-pointer like he did against the Magic. Look for the Bucks defense to come out with extra energy after their coaching change and fade Mitchell.

Victor Wembanyama, Spurs OVER 32.5 points + rebounds (-113)

Wemby should come out in this one with a little extra motivation playing against fellow Rookie of the Year contender Chet Holmgren. He beat this total with his points alone in his last game, dropping 33 points and grabbing seven rebounds against the 76ers. Wemby has recorded 32+ points+rebounds in five straight games. Ride Victor’s momentum to another over in this contest.
