Nikola Jokic OVER 0.5 made threes (-125)

The Serbian big man has improved his three-point percentage from 37.1% in December up to 50% in January. For only the fourth time all season, Jokic has failed to make a three in back-to-back games heading into Friday’s matchup with the Celtics. He has yet to have a streak of three or more games without sinking a three from deep, so I expect at least one made three pointer in tonight’s game. He also has a streak of four straight games against the Celtics with at least two made three pointers. If the Nuggets want to beat the Celtics in Boston, Jokic will have to remind people why he is a two-time MVP.

Jusuf Nurkic OVER 2.5 assists (+100)

The Suns head into Friday’s matchup against the Pelicans scoring at least 110+ points in their last seven games. New Orleans is another team that likes to play at a fast pace, so there should be a lot of scoring opportunities. Nurkic is averaging 3.4 assists on the season. And to have even money for him to reach three assists is a bargain. Look for a lot of kickouts to Kevin Durant and Devin Booker when the defense collapses on the big man. I could see him reach five assists in tonight’s game.

Jerami Grant OVER 19.5 points (-110)

This game sets up perfectly for Grant to put up big numbers. In my opinion, this total is too low at 19.5 points for a guy that is averaging 21.4 on the season. The Syracuse product is shooting 45.9% from the field and his points per game average is in the top-40 in the NBA. The Indiana Pacers are known to be one of the highest pace of play teams in the league, and expect a lot of points with an over/under set at 240.5. Grant has a great opportunity to drop 25+ points tonight on his home court.

Anthony Davis OVER 3.5 assists (-118)

Davis has a solid matchup against a Nets squad allowing the fifth-most assists to centers this season. Davis is fresh off of nine assists against the Mavericks and has dished out at least five assists in three straight games. The Lakers are now home, and you have to think that his teammates will shoot at a higher percentage as well. He is averaging 5.4 assists in January and we only need four. Take the over.

Joel Embiid UNDER 33.5 points (-105)

I am fading Embiid tonight in a game that I do not expect to be close. The Orlando Magic have been mediocre at best over the past month after a hot start to the season, mainly due to a favorable schedule. The Magic are 6-12 SU in their last 18 games and are averaging 98 points per game over their last five contests. We saw a highly motivated Embiid drop 41 points on Wednesday against the defending champion Nuggets, and this could be a good let down spot for the big man. The trio of Embiid, Maxey, and Harris should be able to get out to a big lead and could result in more minutes on the bench than usual against a team they already beat by 20 points earlier in the season. I am fading Philly’s big man in this one.

LaMelo Ball OVER 26.5 points (-104)

Since Ball has returned to the lineup, he has attempted 11 threes a game and 19 total shots per contest. He is also averaging 8.7 foul shots per game and has scored 26 a contest in his three games back. The downside in those stats have been his shooting percentage, 38.6% from the field and 29.4% from three-point land. As he gets more acclimated and comfortable on the court his percentage will increase. There is no better defense to face than the Spurs, who rank 28th in the NBA in points allowed to point guards this year. He dropped 28 points against the Spurs in his return and look for him to get to the free throw line tonight.
