Make sure you watch every game you can over Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, because Monday Night Football might be a stinker. I’ve got a plan for that, though, and you may even get to bed an hour early.

The Green Bay Packers come into this game confident but aware, at least I hope. This is a massive sandwich spot for them as they came out and played very hard against the Seahawks for the big win, with a trip to Minneapolis around the corner.

I'm a big fan of how finely-tuned this team is come December and January. Head coach Matt LaFleur and his staff do an incredible job. Jordan Love is healthy and playing his best ball of the year. After throwing 11 interceptions through his first eight games, Love has now gone four consecutive starts without a pick. He was better in the second half of 2023 as well, throwing to the other team 10 times over the first nine games but just once over the final eight.

New Orleans is out of playoff contention at this point, but you can't say that they've given up on themselves. Remember, their head coach, Darren Rizzi, is a mid-season replacement. So, they don't have a lame duck in there. They have a guy under the headset who has no choice but to treat every week like a job interview.

Wow, this may be the widest moneyline for an NFL game I've ever seen. I've seen higher spreads and knew it was pointless even to look. I'm sure you've had the same experience in Best Buy or the Toyota dealership.

My early lean would be toward the over. The game script for me would be quick throws early from Love. I like the pass-the-ball-to-run-the-ball game plan, because Josh Jacobs carried the rock 26 times last week, and they'll need him to close the game out.

After the other two games when Jacobs had 26 carries, his attempts and yardage were both down the following game.

If that’s the plan for LaFleur, we could see a higher-scoring game with Love slinging it early and often.

I told you I would help you get to bed early, right? Well, bet the Green Bay Packers to cover the 1st half spread, and, no, it isn't under a touchdown. I wanted to save you the disappointment, because I actually thought those odds would be available for a minute.

The odds opened at (-7.5), and some books are already turning it to (-8). They’re trying to scare us off. However, they don’t know that we know fear is overrated.

A two-touchdown spread is warranted here. The Saints will play on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field, and the only road wins for the Superdomers this year came against the Cowboys and Giants.

I want no part of that. We saw Spencer Rattler march his team down the field to score a touchdown, albeit aided by poor clock management from Washington and a bad whistle from the side judge. However, the he still made the plays late.

I don't want to deal with any Rattling or Rizzing late in the 2nd half. The Pack has been a top-ten team in the league in 1st half scoring. Over the previous four games, they're averaging 17 in the first 30 minutes.

Conversely, New Orleans has averaged 4 points in the 1st half of their previous three games, including being shut out by the Commanders last week.

I know it's chalky, but choke it down. Chase it with some eggnog. Do what you gotta do, but take the Packers to cover the 1st half spread on Monday night.
