Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul Best Bets for Props Odds and Moneyline
Well, ladies and gentlemen, it appears as if the long-awaited/just get it over with boxing match between Iron Mike Tyson and Jake Paul is finally coming to fruition. You can watch the fight live on Netflix this Friday night. The main card starts at 8:00 PM Eastern, and they should make the main event walk about 11:00. We were originally scheduled to see the fight over the Summer. And once we hit a snag, pundits and fans, who don’t want to see Tyson get KO’ed, all chimed in with the I told you so’s that it would never happen.
I understand that money is green, so I still thought it would go down, but I’m also securely on the side that doesn’t want to see an American icon fight at 58 years old.
People love Tyson. I was at my first UFC Fan Expo in Vegas back in 2012. We waited in line for close to two hours to meet Chuck Liddell. Out of nowhere, Tyson casually walks by and not only us but everyone in every line within sight abandoned their positions in hopes of just getting close to the former world champ. That is by far the most star-power I’ve ever witnessed in person.
The man on the other side of the ring, conversely, is one of the most hated athletes in all of combat sports. Unfortunately for the 99% of us, this isn’t a popularity contest, and somebody has to win. That is, unless Paul has a plan to make this outcome a draw. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but I’ve seen a lot of fights in my life. In Thailand at the lower level, your school will set you up to win. And as long as you prepared and fight barely hard, your no-name Thai opponent will take a dive. It’s happened to me, and I’ve been in the crowd and seen the predominantly foreign crowd be fooled.
I’ve also seen Paul’s performances, and I would be lying to you if I said I don’t think at least one guy took a dive. Hey, if Tyson takes a dive, I’ll be a happy man. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to see him “win,” but that’s virtually impossible. There’s more than a three-decade age gap.

Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul Betting Odds
Moneyline
Mike Tyson: +180
Jake Paul: -175
Moneyline betting odds of (+160) don’t exactly scream impossible, though. The line opened at (-305) for Paul, which made sense to me, but I thought the smart money would push him potentially up to a 4-to-1 favorite. Is everyone really just out there betting with their heart, or do the sportsbooks know something we don’t? I guess both could be true. These are the best odds I could find, but there is still quite a wide range up to (-240) for Paul.
The consensus line is probably closer to (-210) and (+170).
Round Total
Over 6.5: +100
Under 6.5: -120
It should be noted that this fight will be 8 two-minute rounds, and 14-ounce gloves will be worn. We would normally go 10 three-minute rounds with boxers this size wearing 10-ounce gloves.
We are obviously speculating a lot today, and everyone will be until we actually see what this fight is all about. Paul isn’t like his brother Logan. Jake doesn’t want to be liked. I don’t even think he cares about being respected. I like it.
“The Problem Child” as he likes to be called is far from it. He stands to make $40 million from this. As far as his skills are concerned, I had my doubts in the beginning until I got a feel for his personality and saw the dedication to his training down on the pristine island of Puerto Rico.
Both of the Paul brothers are excellent athletes, and it couldn’t be more obvious both of them are steroided out of their minds. Again, if we’re talking about who wins a fight, give me the cheater.
Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul Prop Bets
Draw: +800
Most betting odds for a boxing match to end in a draw are like 33-1, and that’s with closer moneyline odds. I’ll be watching this one with one eye closed too, so let’s just sprinkle a little dough where there’s some value and hope for the best.
Over 1.5 Knockdowns: +155
I could see a world where Tyson gets dropped, gets up, but then the ref stops it before he hits the canvas a second time. They do need to look out for his health. For (+155), though, I’ll take a shot here. While I don’t think Tyson will drop Paul naturally, anything is possible in this circus.
Tyson to be Knocked Down and Paul Win a Decision: +550
This is my favorite prop bet for the fight. I know they’ll be wearing the big gloves, but Tyson is aggressive and it appears he wants to prove a point. This is when we need some help from the conspiracy that Paul will carry him after showing his dominance.
Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul Winner
Jake Paul: -175
How are these betting odds dropping so fast? Is the public really moving the line this much, or do the books or sharps know something we don’t? There is a 30+ year age gap, Paul can box, hit hard, is roided, young and hungry.
I’m going to set the tin foil hat aside and just play the number, because if it’s a real fight, we are getting astronomical value.
