This Sunday night and Week 15 of the 2023 NFL regular season, we get a high-level matchup between two playoff teams and likely winners of their division. Who knows? We may see these two teams play each other down the line in a massive playoff game.

Both the Baltimore Ravens and the Jacksonville Jaguars are sitting pretty in first place right now. However, the Jaguars are quite banged up at this point in the season, including playing without their best wide receiver Christian Kirk. Now, their star quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, is visibly hampered and slowed after a gnarly high ankle sprain.

I feel you, Sunshine. I crunched my ankle on Friday. Thankfully, it was another low ankle sprain. The high ankle sprains are an entirely different injury and take much longer to heal.

Lawrence surprised many of us when he played last week against the Browns, but it was not his best game as he threw 3 interceptions, completing only 56% of his pass attempts. He was going up against a good defense, but we can say the same thing about the Baltimore Ravens D this week.

Lamar Jackson and the Ravens are coming off a huge walk-off win on a punt return in overtime. We are taught that the sharp move is to fade the team coming off of such a last-minute big win.

However, it will be hard to bet on the Jacksonville Jaguars this week. I say this because the team is incredibly banged up.

And there were -3 lines out there for the Baltimore Ravens, but they did not last for long, and you can bet your butt that they are long gone. That ship has sailed. Do I think the Ravens may get pushed up to 4-point favorites by kickoff?

That is highly likely. So, I am leaning hard toward betting on the Baltimore Ravens right now, even though they have the hook attached to those three points.

We will be playing this game in Jacksonville. So, if home dogs are your thing, maybe you look at a Jags bet. I believe, though, that the injuries will be too much for this team to overcome when they're playing potentially the best team in the AFC.

It isn't like Jacksonville, Florida, has the greatest home city/home field advantage in any league. I imagine their fans are better than LA, but that isn't saying much.

The Baltimore Ravens are playing outstanding football right now. They are winners of seven of their last eight games, with an average margin of victory of 16 points.

Their only loss during this more than two-month span was at home to the Cleveland Browns, who played one of their best games of the season to win a wild 33-31 division scrap against the Ravens.

Defensively speaking, these two teams are not the same. The Baltimore Ravens are ranked first in the NFL in yards per play allowed. Conversely, the Jacksonville Jaguars are ranked 28th in the same statistic.

On offense, the two teams are a bit more comparable. However, statistically speaking, they still aren't that close. The Ravens rank 3rd in the league in yards per play, while the Jags are 17th.

Take into account the injuries, particularly on offense for Jacksonville, and couple that with the Ravens’ D. I think their yards/play drops off the table for the Jags.

Jacksonville ranks 30th in the NFL in yards/rush allowed. That is a terrible look going up against statistically the best running team in the league. Oh, and the Ravens defense is No. 1 against the pass.

The last-minute win on Sunday worries me a bit for Baltimore. However, it isn't a short week, and they have one of the best head coaches in the game to keep their heads on straight for a big December AFC matchup.
