Sunday Night Football Picks: Kansas City Chiefs vs Green Bay Packers
With more and more marquee games every week in primetime, fans and bettors get a curveball on Sunday Night Football when the Kansas City Chiefs visit the possibly frozen tundra of Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers.
I say possibly because a rain/snow mix is forecasted for Sunday with a game-time temperature of 32 degrees Fahrenheit. That isn't anything new for KC, though. So, I don't project an advantage for either team.
That said, Patrick Mahomes’ receivers had a surprisingly hard time catching his passes in their loss to the Eagles a couple of weeks ago. At least Travis Kelce had an excuse. His woman wasn’t watching from the booth. However, the Chiefs rebounded last week with a dominant win over the Raiders.
As for the Pack, they are playing some of their best football of the season. They have won 3 out of their last 4 games, including the big 29-22 victory over the NFC Norse division rival Detroit Lions. It was 29-14 heading into the 4th quarter. So, it wasn't even that close.
I know this because we had the Lions in our basic strategy teaser from last week at (-1.5) down from (-7.5).
Green Bay is balling. Quarterback Jordan Love was 22-32 for 268 and 3 touchdowns in maybe the biggest win of his career.

Chiefs vs Packers Betting Odds
Point Spread
Chiefs: -6 (-110)
Packers +6 (-110)
The betting odds for this game opened up at (-7) for KC, and you know it wasn't public money that moved the line to (+6) to the Packers.
Seventy-five percent of the money is on Kansas City here. I guess the books think this game will play out quite close, as we have seen from most Chiefs and Packers games this season.
Moneyline
Chiefs: -265
Packers: +215
Green Bay does have some extra rest, having played on Thanksgiving, with the Chiefs playing this past Sunday afternoon.
I can see some people taking a shot on them this week. They are sitting at 5-6 and would be the first team out of the playoffs should the postseason start now. They need this game badly!
The Chiefs don't really want to lose a game like this, though. They are 2 games ahead but don't have a tiebreaker over the Denver Broncos, who have now won 5 in a row. Also, if the Ravens pull another game ahead of KC, the Chiefs are likely out of the running for the #1 seed.

Chiefs vs Packers Betting Analysis
Depending on your Turkey Day schedule, you may not have caught the early game between Detroit and Green Bay. It only took a few seconds reading the box score to see that Detroit dominated the time of possession, had more yards overall, and even shut down the Packers' running attack.
The 3 fumbles killed them. Without those three costly turnovers, would the betting line have moved the other way?
The Packers haven't been able to run the ball all season, and last week was no different, as leading rusher AJ Dillon ran the ball for a total of 43 yards.
On paper, this is an easy pick for me. I love Kansas City at (-6). The weather is the worry.
Chiefs vs Packers Betting Prediction
At less than a touchdown, it doesn’t bother me that badly. The Chiefs aren’t a dome team, and they have the best quarterback in football.
Let's hope KC running back Isaiah Pacheco doesn't bust his butt doing those slashing cutbacks he loves to do. Fall down? Fine, just please hang onto the football!
Pick: Kansas City Chiefs (-6)
