There are about a dozen US sportsbooks that have a list of odds for the NFL’s Most Valuable Player this season. However, the top four US sportsbooks (FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM and Caesars) break things down with the odds for the top five players that will be highlighting the list from the start of the regular season.

Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Justin Herbert and Jalen Hurts are five of the most likely preseason candidates to win this award. They all play quarterback and have led their team with some kind of success in the recent season. The four US sportsbooks ranked the five quarterbacks at the top the list to receive votes by the Associated Press once the regular season begins on Sept. 7, 2023.

Here are the five NFL players and their average number of betting odds to win the MVP with these four US sportsbooks.

Patrick Mahomes +650 Odds

As the reigning MVP of the past NFL regular season, Mahomes led the offense of the Kansas City Chiefs through the 2022/2023 campaign. He was also MVP in Super Bowl 57 over the Philadelphia Eagles with excellent play despite a bad ankle. Mahomes ended the 2022/2023 regular season with a league-leading 5,250 passing yards while completing 67.1 throwing attempts.

As the first-place team in the AFC, Kansas City went 14-3 in the past regular season. Mahomes had 41 touchdown throws and only 12 interceptions. Over his six years in the NFL, the Chiefs are 64-16 when he starts the game. Mahones is +600 for FanDuel on the low side of the NFL MVP odds for the upcoming season. He is +650 with BetMGM and Caesars to win the award alongside +700 for DraftKings.

Joe Burrow +688 Odds

With his 42 starts in three years, Burrow is one of the leading young quarterbacks in the league. He put up 4,475 passing years in 16 games last regular season and had 35 touchdown throws verse 12 interceptions. He also scrambled for 257 yards on 75 carries and was third on the running list with Cincinnati after Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon.

Burrow led the Bengals’ offense in the postseason over Baltimore and Buffalo before falling to the Chiefs 23-20 in the AFC Championship Game. He is the favorite at BetMGM with +600 odds to win the MVP this regular season in the NFL. Burrow is +700 with FanDuel and Caesars. DraftKings has its odds at +750.

Josh Allen +750 Odds

Placing third on the list of the top four US sportsbooks, Allen has been the starting quarterback for the Buffalo Bills entering his six season. He has been mentioned before as MVP of the league and Allen threw for 18,397 yards and rushed for 3,087 yards in his past performance. He has a special connection with wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who was fifth in the NFL in receiving yards for the 2022/2023 regular season (1,429 yards).

FanDuel has +700 odds that he will be MVP of the 2023/2024 NFL season. BetMGM and Caesars have +750 odds and DraftKings has settled in at +800 that he will take that award.

Justin Herbert +1060 Odds

The fourth quarterback on the list is Justin Herbert leading the Los Angeles Chargers in his fourth year in the NFL. He has 14,089 passing yards on 1,316 completions for a rate of 66.8%. Herbert was second in throwing the ball last season with 4,739 yards. He had 25 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions.

The odds board of the major US sportsbooks has a low of +900 by FanDuel and a high of +1300 by DraftKings. Caesars is +950 odds and BetMGM is +1100. If Herbert goes over 5,000 yards passing in 17 regular-season games with at least 30 touchdown passes, he could jump up the list of MVP candidates.

Jalen Hurts +1075 Odds

A shoulder injury late in the season last year basically derailed Hurts’ chances. However, he went to the 2023 Super Bowl with the passing and running skills that he showed all season long. Hurts passed the ball for 3,701 yards in 15 regular-season games and ran the ball 760 yards as well.

Caesars has the lowest number at +900 odds with BetMGM and DraftKings at +1100. FanDuel has the highest number at +1200 odds. Hurts would love the opportunity to win the NFL’s MVP this regular season if everything goes right through the year.
