NFL Confidence Pool Picks Week 10
Each week, here at Doc Sports we will be giving out the outright winner of each matchup, with the corresponding ‘confidence value’ attached.
It was an eventful Week 9, with the Super Bowl contenders separating themselves from the pretenders. The Ravens have proven they are here to stay at the top of the AFC, with a blowout victory over the NFC West leading Seattle Seahawks. In what was pegged to be a classic matchup between the Eagles and the Cowboys, Philadelphia outworked Dallas in the trenches to extend their lead atop the NFC. Finally, on Sunday night the Bills and Bengals squared off for the first time since the infamous Damar Hamlin game, with the Bengals ousting their longtime foe 24-18 to put their 4th straight win on the board. The Chiefs and Eagles still lead the way in their respective conferences, but a plethora of legitimate threats are not far behind the Super Bowl 57 participants.
Doc’s Sports offers NFL expert picks for every game on our NFL predictions page.
14 points- Dallas Cowboys Over New York Giants: Divisional matchups can often lead to surprise outcomes, but there will be nothing surprising about the way Dallas dismantles their NFC East rival. The Giants lost Daniel Jones for the remainder of the season, but not that it matters. Dallas is dominant on both sides of the ball, and Brian Daboll is certainly not looking forward to this one.
13 points- Buffalo Bills Over Denver Broncos: The Bills are languishing outside the playoff picture and are in danger of sitting out the postseason for the first time with Josh Allen under center. Those fears will be extinguished with a dominant Monday Night Football win over the lowly Broncos.
12 points- Cincinnati Bengals Over Houston Texans: The Bengals have won 4 straight games and they’ll look to make it 5 in a row against the upstart Houston Texans. CJ Stroud has been rightfully making headlines, but let’s not forget the Texans gave the Panthers their only win of the season just 2 weeks ago. Joey Brrr gets it done.
11 points- Pittsburgh Steelers Over Green Bay Packers: You simply can never count the Steelers out. Mike Tomlin continues to find ways to win games, and a fragile Jordan Love will not stand a chance. Their defensive line will get to him early and often, and the Steelers will improve to 6-3 with a convincing win.
10 points- Seattle Seahawks Over Washington Commanders: In a crucial matchup in the NFC Wild Card race, Seattle will come out angry after their recent blowout, and take advantage of a weak Commanders offensive line. Sam Howell has shown plenty of promise, but it’s very difficult to make accurate throws while lying on your back thanks to a generous offensive line.
9 points- Indianapolis Colts Over New England Patriots: The Colts have scored 20+ in every game this season, while the Patriots have done so just twice. That should tell you all you need to know about where these offenses are at this stage of the season, and a less than stellar Colts defense will do just enough to get them over the line. Tank time for Belichick.
8 points- Detroit Lions Over LA Chargers: The Lions are poised to win the NFC North for the first time in franchise history, and host their first playoff game since 1993 that goes with it. The Chargers are an absolute mess and a Week 9 win over the Jets will not convince me they are Super Bowl challengers. The Detroit Lions are, and will prove it in LA.
7 points- Baltimore Ravens Over Cleveland Browns: It’s difficult to pick against the Browns considering the form their defense has been on, but the Ravens are borderline unstoppable heading into Week 10. A pair of dominant defenses will both have their moments, but when push comes to shove, Lamar Jackson and co. will emerge victorious.
6 points- San Francisco 49ers Over Jacksonville Jaguars: The 49ers need a win. After winning their first 5 games they cannot afford to drop a 4th straight and lose ground on the Seahawks. While Jacksonville is certainly no pushover, a desperate, healthy 49ers team coming off their bye will stamp their authority and remind the league they are still a force to be reckoned with.
5 points- Minnesota Vikings Over New Orleans Saints: Joshua Dobbs didn’t know the playbook, offensive style, or even his receivers names, yet he led the Vikings to an incredible comeback win. The Saints bring a unique offense with Derek Carr and Taysom Hill to the table, but a buoyant Vikings squad will get the job done in front of a roaring home crowd.
4 points- New York Jets Over Las Vegas Raiders: The bounce the Raiders got from their new head coach carried them to a Week 9 win, but reality will sink in when they take on the aggressive Jets defense. Zach Wilson is far from perfect, but he’s still good enough to keep the ball close to his chest, and play mistake free football. A defensive touchdown from the Jets thanks to over aggressive play calling from Antonio Pierce will be the difference maker.
3 points- Chicago Bears Over Carolina Panthers: It’s never a bad idea to bet against the Panthers, even when that means rooting for the Bears. Justin Fields has returned to practice, but whoever is under center for the Bears will be good enough to snatch a victory, even Tyson Bagent. Bryce Young has gotten no help in his rookie season, and the young signal caller will continue to find himself on the wrong side of the scoreboard.
2 points- Atlanta Falcons Over Arizona Cardinals: There are rumors Kyler Murray may be ready to make his season debut, but regardless of who is calling plays for the Cardinals, the Falcons will use their gritty run game to find success. Atlanta just got a real gut punch after losing to the Vikings in heartbreaking fashion last week and will take their anger out on a visionless Cardinals franchise.
1 point- Tampa Bay Buccaneers Over Tennessee Titans: Playoff hopes are quickly evaporating for the Buccaneers, but that doesn’t mean they can’t find joy against the Titans. There are apparently 3 men all ready to start for Tennessee, none of which are good enough to consistently start in the NFL. Baker Mayfield pulls out a little magic to get the Buccaneers their first win since Week 4.
