Monday Night Football Predictions: Philadelphia Eagles vs Seattle Seahawks
As we enter the final four weeks of the NFL regular season, there are no more bye weeks, and we surprisingly have a large number of teams that are still mathematically in the playoff picture.
I'm looking now at the NFL.com playoff picture page, and it says the Carolina Panthers are the only NFC team that has been eliminated from postseason contention.
After the Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Dallas Cowboys this past Sunday, they now have the same record of 10-3 as the Dallas Cowboys, but the latter has the tiebreaker and is currently sitting in first in the NFC East with control over its own destiny in the division.
The Seattle Seahawks were without their starting quarterback, Geno Smith, this past Sunday against the rival San Francisco 49ers. They did a fairly good job on offense, hanging with probably the best team in the NFL. However, defensively, they struggled down the stretch to make stops and thus could not come back against the vaunted 49ers.
The Seahawks are currently sitting at 6-7 right now, but really only a tiebreaker away from the final playoff spot. The Green Bay Packers are currently the last team in, and they are also 6-7. The NFC has five teams, with that record. So, every game will count as we come down the stretch of the 2023 NFL regular season.

Eagles vs Seahawks Betting Odds
Point Spread
Philadelphia: -3.5 (-110)
Seattle: +3.5 (-110)
The Philadelphia Eagles have been reeling a bit. However, as you can see, they are 3.5-point road favorites in Seattle, one of the more difficult places to play in the NFL considering their 12th Man.
The status of Seahawks quarterback Smith is still up in the air. Head coach Pete Carroll came out and said that we still don't know and that we are probably looking at another game-time decision as to whether or not he will start.
Moneyline
Philadelphia: -190
Seattle: +160
The Seattle Seahawks have quite a bit more to play for in this game. So, I do hesitate to play Philly as the road favorites.
Backup Seahawks quarterback, Drew Lock, played a pretty good game on Sunday, throwing for 268 yards and a couple of touchdowns. However, he did have two interceptions, and his team only scored six points in the second half.
Point Total
Over 47.5: (-110)
Under 47.5 (-110)
Eagles vs Seahawks Betting Analysis
Many are predicting a big bounce back when here for the Philadelphia Eagles, who are on a two-game losing streak. Let me rephrase that. They are on a two-game blowout loss streak. They fell to the 49ers by more than 20 points and last week to the Dallas Cowboys by 20 as well.
Prior to those games, however, the Eagles had wins over the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs, respectively.
Statistically speaking, the Seahawks and the Eagles are quite similar if you look at their yards per play on offense and yards per play allowed on defense over the entire year. For example, the respective offenses rank 10th and 11th in yards per play, while the two defenses ranked 23rd and 24th in yards per play allowed.
It was hard to find statistical differences between these two teams. However, third down efficiency, both on offense and defense, goes the way of the Philadelphia Eagles. I believe that will be the difference in this game. We are very likely to see the brotherly shove/the tush push several times in this game, and it's more than likely it will be successful each time.
Eagles vs Seahawks Betting Prediction
I like Philly here, but I don't like the three points and the hook. Therefore, we are going to go with the Eagles on the moneyline.
Pick: Philadelphia (-190)
