We are once again getting two Monday Night Football games this week. They are both kicking off at the same time. The game I want to cover with you guys today is between the New York Football Giants and the streaking Green Bay Packers.

We didn't know what to think about the Green Bay Packers and their new quarterback Jordan Love for the longest time. I am now hearing how unfair it was that the Packers went from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers and now on to Love.

Hold your horses, guys! The kid has a great touch to his passes, particularly when he throws the ball over the top of the defense dropping it into a bucket. He moves very well. And while he might lack some explosion, he makes up for it with his smoothness.

I am still not completely sold, though. Favre and Rodgers are each first-ballot Hall of Famers, without a doubt. It was pretty rad, however, to see Love lead the Packers past Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

If he can do that, then lighting up the New York Giants, who SHOULD be tanking in order to get one of those elite quarterback prospects in the draft next Spring, can't be that difficult.

What are they going to do about Daniel Jones, though?

What a mistake it was paying that guy. It appears that the G-Men have an outstanding coach who is still improving in Brian Daboll, but their front office makes trash decisions, other than hiring him, of course.

The Giants stink, and they have all season. They are ranked among the bottom three teams in both offense and defense.

Packers vs Giants Betting Odds

Point Spread

New York: +6.5

Green Bay: -6.5

The sharp play, if we are playing by the book, would be to take the Giants and the points here. I just can’t bring myself to do that, though.

We are taught to fade teams that could be overvalued and that are coming off of a big win. In the case of the Green Bay Packers, their two biggest wins of the season have come in the past two weeks.

Their hot streak is going to have to pop at some point. I don’t know if Tommy DeVito can be that guy. My old college mate, Tyrod Taylor, is back from his injury, but Daboll is sticking with the kid. Why not, right?

Taylor gives you the best chance to win, but then what? Do you want him under center next season? No. The Virginia Tech Hokie is limited in his play, not to mention getting up there in age.

I’m not mad at them playing Devito, but I am tempted to bet on the Packers here. If Taylor was starting, I could see him keeping his team in the game through most of the contest.

New York: +245

Green Bay: -305

I do not think the New York Giants have any interest in winning this game. If you’re a baller, then throw just over three units on the Pack to win one.

The point spread isn’t bad, though, sitting at less than a touchdown.

Point Total

Over 36: -110

Under 36: -110

This point total is too low. Love put up 27 last week against a stout Kansas City Chiefs defense. The Giants aren’t the Chiefs on offense and definitely not as good as the defending Super Bowl champions on defense.

I could see 27-13. So, the point total isn’t that far off. Primetime games have been going under at a 70% clip for the 2023 season.

Packers vs Giants Betting Analysis

Don’t overthink this one. Green Bay Packers head coach Matt Lefluer is 15-0 in the month of December! That’s impressive. As a fan of Rodgers, though, I have to point out that the same could be said about him.

This is a public play, but it's also a sharp play. It is Green Bay or bust here, in my opinion. The Giants need a quarterback, and they can only afford one who is on a rookie salary. I do not see them winning. Let's just hope they don't pull off some backdoor cover.
