Welcome to the College Football Totals article, where I analyze the totals of the college games and give out what I feel are the best plays. Using Doc's proprietary "Unit Betting System," we hope to maximize our return on investment (ROI). The standard wagering unit will be $100.

Regrettably, it's been a few weeks since our last edition. We took a beating on those picks, losing 6.9 units. However, because of the beauty of Doc's "Unit Betting System," I've been able to maximize my strongest plays and still have a healthy profit for the season. With just two weeks before the postseason, we're positioning ourselves nicely for a big bowl season and a great all-around year.

UNLV vs. Air Force (-3/47) Sat 3:30 CBS Sports Network

This game is a battle between two 8-2 powerhouses in the Mountain West. While the rule changes involving the time clock affected just a few teams, Air Force is among them. In 2021, the Falcons averaged 72.7 plays a game while gaining 423.9 yards of total offense and 328.4 on the ground. In 2023, they're averaging 62.2 plays a game for 362.8 yards, with 275.9 on the ground. When these two squads meet, fireworks usually ensue, as evidenced by the over cashing 10 out of 13 times. PICK: OVER 47 for 2 units

No. 24 Oklahoma State vs Houston (+6/58.5) 4 pm ESPN2

Oklahoma State is one of the four teams in the Big 12 with a 5-2 conference record and, thus, is still very much alive for a spot in the Big 12 title game. These two teams are very similar: both have had weak conference defenses and not spectacular offenses. The under is 4-1 in Houston's last five contests and 4-2 in the Cougars' last six home games. Meanwhile, 12 out of the previous 16 Cowboys games have been under the mark. Our model is calling for a 27-23 Oklahoma State victory. PICK: UNDER 58.5 for 2 units

Appalachian State vs. James Madison (-8.5/55.5) 2 pm ESPN+

This matchup features two Top 25 offenses: Appalachian State is 22nd, and JMU is 23rd. Unfortunately for the Mountaineers, that's where the comparison stops, as their stop-unit surrenders 27 ppg and 390 total yards, almost evenly split between the 200.2 yards in the air and 190.0 on the ground. Last year, these two squads met in a 32-28 JMU victory, and the offenses are better this season. Finally, the Dukes' ferocious defense took a significant hit two weeks ago in losing the nation's sack leader, Jalen Green. His absence wasn't an issue against a weak UConn team, but it will be much more noticeable against a Mountaineer squad that can move the ball very well. One of the best bets. PICK: OVER 55.5 4 units

No. 3 Michigan vs. Maryland (+19/51) Noon FOX

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh has officially been suspended for the remainder of the regular season. If you'll recall, we used the Harbaugh suspension early in the season to hammer the unders, as they cashed three straight weeks. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The Terps have a decent defense to boot, ranking 47th in the country at 22.4 ppg allowed. With the Buckeyes on deck, the Wolverines look to play it close to the vest and ensure every one is as healthy as possible. In the last seven games that have featured Maryland as an underdog, five of those contests went under the mark. PICK: UNDER 50.5 3 units

Rutgers vs. No. 12 Penn State (-20.5/40.5) Noon FS1

Much has been made of Penn State's colossal failures against Ohio State and Michigan. While that is undoubtedly the truth, remember that this is the same Penn State squad that scored 30+ points in 15 consecutive games at one point this season. Even though the Nittany Lions fired their OC this week, don't look for much of offense to change. Rutgers hasn't been horrible on offense, averaging 24.1 ppg. It's possible that PSU covers the over themselves, but more likely that Rutgers scores 10-14 points and Penn State does the rest. PICK: OVER 40.5 5-units
