We are coming down the home stretch of the 2023 NFL regular season, and the handicapping of games becomes a bit more complicated. However, if we are diligent, we can make it work for us.

As you might have picked up, there are a ton of NFL teams with a quarterback problem…or two. It's about time we begin to see some organizations tank to receive a higher draft pick.

The QB class of 2024 does look like one of the best we have seen in a while. I am sure teams like the New England Patriots and even the Las Vegas Raiders are starting to look ahead to that draft.

One way we can make these games that have so many extra variables easier to handicap is to tease them.

What them? Yes, tease them. Don’t use your imagination. Here is a brief explanation of a teaser.

What is a Teaser?

A teaser is a type of parlay bet where the bettor can manipulate the betting line in their favor. Most sportsbooks will allow you to add anywhere from 4 to 10 points to the current spread.

Sounds easy enough, right? Well, bets sounding easy usually lead to disappointment and less dinero in your wallet.

If there were only a basic strategy we could use to win us money in the long term with our teaser bets. You are in luck, because there is already a basic strategy in place for teasing NFL games.

What is a Basic Strategy Teaser

A basic strategy teaser is an NFL teaser, it has to be only a two-team teaser, a 6-point teaser, and you must tease either a betting favorite or a betting underdog through the key numbers of 3 and 7.

More games end with a point differential of just 3 than any other margin of victory. The second most common differential is 7 points.

When choosing teams for our two-leg basic strategy teaser bet, we want to look for betting favorites of (-7.5) to (-8.5) and tease them down to favorites of only (-1.5) to (-2.5).

To tease and underdog up, we look for betting odds of (+1.5) to (+2.5), and we want to tease them up to dogs of (+7.5) to (+8.5).

Potential Week 14 NFL Teaser Games

Buffalo Bills (+1.5) vs Kansas City Chiefs (-1.5)

The Buffalo Bills have to play at the Chiefs, who are coming off a loss. That doesn't bode well for their chances to win the game. That said, the Bills are a very talented team with one of the most productive quarterbacks in the league under center.

If we want to use our basic strategy for this matchup, we would be teasing the underdog Bills up through the key numbers of 3 and 7 from (+1.5) to (+7.5).

All the trends in the history of Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs point towards them covering in this game.

Hey, they could cover by a few points and we still hit one leg of our teaser. ,

What I love about the Bills is their hunger for a playoff berth. They are just one game out of the final three playoff spots.

Denver Broncos (+2.5) vs Los Angeles Chargers (-2.5)

The Denver Broncos make the fairly short trip to sea level and Southern California and will take on the LA Chargers in one of the late afternoon games this coming Sunday.

I was a bit surprised at this line, and it makes you think that if Denver had won this past week, maybe the line would be a little closer to a pick'em. Russell Wilson is playing his best football in years, and head coach Sean Payton has the team playing hard and confidently on both sides of the ball.

The LA Chargers are coming off a win and a shutout, but it was against the New England Patriots and nothing to be proud of. LA scored 6 points.

I know Denver may be a little more banged up, but I will take them all day at (+8.5) to be in my teaser.
