Course Characteristics of Those Who Can Win or Secure Winning Golf Bets
The Bank of Hope LPGA Match-Play is a unique event with a grueling format. The field will consist of 64 players and will be divided into 16 groups for three days of round-robin pool play. Players will earn one point for a win, a half-point for a tie, and no points for a loss. Whoever has the most points in each pool by Friday will advance to the round of 16 for single-elimination play.
Lilia Vu +900
Vu is the only American player to win on the LPGA Tour this year, and she has done it twice in comeback fashion. After recording eight top-10 finishes in 2022 and a tie for 30th at the CME Group Tour Championship, Vu began her third season in 2023 with her best performance to date. At the 2023 Honda LPGA Thailand, she overcame a six-stroke deficit in the final round to claim victory. Vu has displayed poise and patience in her ascent to becoming the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings World No. 4. Vu should be a strong play this weekend in Vegas.
Celine Boutier +1800
Boutier is a great putter, displayed by her ranking of 14th on the LPGA Tour in 2022. This year she currently ranks inside the top 20 in both greens-in-regulation and birdies made. She also has a strong track record when it comes to match play dating back to her amateur career. She is a former winner of the British Ladies Amateur in 2015, something which she has continued into her pro career, possessing a 100% record in the Solheim Cup singles and I am expecting her to continue that play this weekend.
Linn Grant +2200
Due to her inability to get into LPGA events, Grant spent the majority of last year competing on the Ladies European Tour. She ended up winning four times in 17 starts and earning Rookie of the Year honors along with the Race to Costa del Sol title. Grant’s first four LPGA starts in 2022 came in Europe. She made her debut at the Amundi Evian Championship with a final round of 64 and finished tied for eighth. She also finished T19 at the AIG Women’s Open. Grant then ended the year with three straight top-10s, including a third-place finish at the TOTO Japan Classic. This weekend will mark her first LPGA event on US soil. Grant is a solid play at +2200 odds.
