NFL Confidence Pool Picks Week 8
Welcome to Week 8 of the NFL season. As a reminder, there are only 15 games on the schedule, as there are teams on their bye weeks. Last weekend we saw three big upsets as the Packers, Buccaneers, and Chargers were upset by their opponents. These games were difficult to watch because it was unexplainable how these teams couldn’t pull it together as they were big favorites to come out victorious. Let's put this past weekend and focus on Week 8 as good things await.
So, Without further hesitation, here are our Week 8 NFL confidence pool picks. As a reminder, these will be ranked from strongest to weakest. All picks are straight up and don’t involve the point spread, so these picks can be valuable for NFL survivor pools and moneyline betting.

Miami Dolphins (-164) over Detroit Lions: 15 Points
The Dolphins are back in business as Tua Tagavailoa has returned to the team after his horrific concussion incident. This past weekend, this Dolphins team took on a good Steelers defense and came out with a win. It’s amazing to see how well this team gels together with Tagovailoa in the lineup. The Dolphins should easily run through the Lions this Sunday. The Lions are not good, and they have one of the worst offenses in the NFL. The Dolphins got this game covered.
Dallas Cowboys (-460) over Chicago Bears: 14 Points
The Cowboys are walking away with this game. The Bears may have beat the Patriots, but they won’t have that type of success this week. The Cowboys have a good offense with Cooper Rush or Dak Prescott under center. The Bears don’t have the offensive firepower to keep up. They also don’t have the defense necessary to get enough stops for the Bears to control the pace of the game.
Buffalo Bills (-500) over Green Bay Packers: 13 Points
The Packers have been the most surprising disappointment of this season. This offense can't generate any yards. There’s no way that they will be able to keep up with the amount of firepower that the Bills bring to the field. Also, the Packers have been owned by teams in the state of New York this season. I expect the trend to continue here.
Tennessee Titans (-134) over Houston Texans: 12 Points
The Texans are a sorry excuse of a football team. This team should honestly still be winless. However, it is football, and things happen in football that shouldn’t. Look for the Titans to get up early and donate the game with Derrick Henry in the trenches. There’s no wizardry that Davis Mills can pull out his bag to win this game. The Titans have returned to playing good football after an awful start to the season.
Philadelphia Eagles (-550) over Pittsburgh Steelers: 11 Points
The Eagles remain the only undefeated team in the NFL, as they have been the best team week in and week out. I expect them to come out victorious in this interstate matchup as they can move the ball down the field at will, unlike the Steelers. The Steelers have major issues at the QB position, which will continue with the lockdown secondary that the Eagles obtain. Don’t expect much from the Steelers here.
New York Giants (+130) over Seattle Seahawks: 10 Points
I think it's time to hop on the Giants bandwagon as they have been playing dominant football, only losing a game to the Cowboys this season. I would’ve never imagined it like this. The Seahawks are a mess, and they just lost DK Metcalf due to injury. The main guy is out in Seattle, so this is less for the Giants to worry about. I expect the Giants to win this game as their new coaching staff has been playing the right game of chess.
Jacksonville Jaguars (-156) over Denver Broncos: 9 points
The Jaguars have started to get things together, as they have identified their identity. They traded away James Robinson and decided to go with Travis Etienne as their main guy in the backfield. Now they can stop worrying about the rotating backfield and just go make plays with their key guys. The Broncos are in a big hole as they don't have Russell Wilson under center due to his injury. I expect this to go the Jaguars way as they have shown flashes of good football thus far.
San Francisco 49ers (-118) over Los Angeles Rams: 8 Points
The 49ers had a good week on the trade market, as they obtained Christian McCaffrey from the Panthers. This team relies heavily on a dominant backfield, and they went out and got a guy that helps them have that. With CMC on this team, they have become legit contenders as they have a good defensive line. The Rams have been mediocre since their Super Bowl win. They have been playing below their standards. I expect the 49ers to come away with this weekend as they have some new life since the addition of CMC.
Washington Commanders (+118) over Indianapolis Colts: 7 Points
Both teams have injuries at the QB1 position. I'm backing the Commanders here, as they have the better backup QB. This team also has a pair of talented receivers, along with a great backfield. The Colts just have too many questions around them right now. The Commanders is the safest bet here.
New England Patriots (-130) over New York Jets: 6 Points
The Pats had a tough time against the Bears on Monday night. There was a big QB controversy in the middle of the game after Bailey Zappe took over for Mac Jones in the second quarter. Many people on the field state in interviews that they were surprised and confused by the change. The Pats look great with Zappe under center. If he starts, they will win this game. This could be the Tom Brady story all over again. The Jets have added Robinson, but he will need more time to adjust to the new offense. The Pats take this one.
New Orleans Saints (+112) over Las Vegas Raiders: 5 Points
The Saints are potentially getting back Michael Thomas this week. This Saints team has been looking better since Andy Dalton has taken over. With a threat like Thomas returning, they can spread the field and create more opportunities for guys like Alvin Kamara. The Raiders have too many issues going on right now. Both teams are fighting for their season right now. The Saints have a better defense, so we’re going to back them.
Minnesota Vikings (-190) over Arizona Cardinals: 4 Points
The Vikings are one of the best teams in the NFL. They have a prolific offense that can score at a ridiculous rate. This pick could’ve been ranked earlier. I’m very confident in the Vikings winning this game. The only problem is that they are coming off a bye week, and they run into a team that just got DeAndre Hopkins back from suspension. We have to see how well he can propel the Cardinals offense.
Carolina Panthers (+176) over Atlanta Falcons: 3 Points
Picking a winner for this game is a real coin flip. The reason I'm backing the Panthers is because they shut down a Tom Brady-led Bucs team. Holding Brady to three points is very impressive. P.J. Walker is also a pretty impressive QB. Let’s look for him to continue building momentum as he makes a push for the QB1 position for the Panthers.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+100) over Baltimore Ravens: 2 Points
Tom Brady is damn near undefeated in games after being shutout. Brady has been all about making statements throughout his entire career. Look for him to make a statement against Lamar Jackson and shut up the media that is trying to destroy him. This is going to be an interesting game to watch. Let’s back history here as well know it tends to repeat itself quite often.
Cincinnati Bengals (-180) over Cleveland Browns: 1 point
This is the first meeting of this divisional rivalry. The Bengals have gotten their offense together and still do obtain the ability to make big plays. The Browns are only dominant when they can control the clock through their tough run game. If this game gets into a shootout, the Browns will struggle to keep up, as they can’t make as many big plays. The Bengals will win this game if Joe Burrow can get enough time to get the ball off. They have superior receivers and a superior kicker. This game could be decided with the final play being a long field goal. Let's back the Bengals.
