There is a lot of clarity after week 17, as six of the eight divisions have been decided before the last week of the season. The first week 18 of NFL history is before us, and the Indianapolis Colts need to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars for a wild card spot. The Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers are playing for a playoff spot, which will be an exciting matchup. The New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles will be fighting for the final two spots in the NFC wild card race.

The biggest story from week 17 has to be the Cincinnati Bengals, who rallied from 14 down against arguably one of the best teams in the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs. The Bengals have earned their first AFC North title and playoff appearance in six years.

The Arizona Cardinals had a huge bounce back win against the Dallas Cowboys. This is a win the Cardinals desperately needed as they head into the playoffs. There were lingering concerns heading into the week for Kyler Murray and the Cardinals. However, for a team that was only 7% picked, they put the league on notice again.

Lastly, the Las Vegas Raiders shocked the AFC beating the red-hot Indianapolis Colts. This puts the Raiders to five walk off victories this year and three straight wins against AFC hopefuls. Las Vegas is now in a position for a wild card position if they beat the Los Angeles Chargers next week at home.

Sean McVay, although a football genius, has had difficulties throughout his career with rival San Francisco. The Rams under McVay are 3-6, which includes five consecutive losses to the 49ers. There is also extreme significance for the 49ers as a win would clinch them a trip to the playoffs. The Rams also have the Arizona Cardinals one game back in the divisional race, so they also have a reason to play hard. The wild card factor will come down to who the starting quarterback will be for the 49ers, as Jimmy Garoppolo is battling a hand injury. This is a meaningful game that could feature an upset if the 49ers are able to get after Matt Stafford early in the game.

Los Angeles Chargers @ Las Vegas Raiders

The game of the week and one of the most exciting matchups of the year features the Los Angeles Chargers traveling to Las Vegas to face the Raiders. I believe the Chargers will prove to be too much offensively for the Raiders. Six of the last seven games between the two opponents have been decided by 3 points or less. Both teams have been inconsistent and extremely dramatic this season. The Chargers have been the second highest scoring team in the NFL this season but have been weak defensively at times. I believe the depleted roster of the Raiders offensively will prove to be too much of a hurdle to overcome, especially to keep up to Herbert’s high-powered offense. Take the Chargers in this one.

Atlanta Falcons vs New Orleans Saints

With most of the matchups in week 18 being meaningless, this is the last opportunity I can see for potential spoiler alert. The Saints must win to make the playoffs against divisional rival Atlanta Falcons. The Saints downfall is they have looked out of sorts offensively the past five weeks, Alvin Kamara has not been the offensive juggernaut he had been previously. Regardless of previous weeks, this game will be a divisional war and should come down to the wire. It would be not a surprise to see Matt Ryan rally his team for a win. In week 9, the Falcons out dueled the Saints 27-25. I see this as a toss-up game where if you need to make ground in your league take the Falcons.
