Last week of college football went well for us. We hit on two of our three picks. Texas blew out Oklahoma, TCU covered against Kansas, but Alabama didn’t cover against Texas A&M. That Alabama spread pick was kind of a reach as we were playing the hot hand against a mediocre team. Alabama did come out with a win, but they struggled to score at the rate they usually do.

This week we have some exciting conference matchups that we will be keeping a close eye on. I’m very happy with how consistent college football has been this year. There haven’t been many upsets, and the important thing is that the things that are supposed to happen end up happening. At least that’s the case from the games we’re paying attention to so far.

Game 1: Oklahoma State Vs TCU

Opening line: TCU -3.5 O/U

This matchup is my favorite of the week. Both teams are undefeated and have extremely good offenses, which means that oddsmakers will mark up a profitable spread. Oklahoma State is extremely overvalued here due to having an undefeated season. However, when you dive deeper into the teams they have played against, only Baylor and Texas Tech were good quality, competitive teams. TCU has been dominating, beating high-caliber teams and holding a 4-0-1 record against the spread thus far. The TCU line here is a -3.5, which should honestly be closer to a -7. TCU is going to dominate this matchup as they take down another undefeated team this week. TCU ranks within the top 40 of every offensive category except points, so this is even more confirmation for me. This TCU team is extremely efficient. The public has placed 67% of the bets and 85% of the money on TCU as of today. Let’s take this line before the market adjusts to retail bettors later in the week.

Pick: TCU -3.5 (-110)

Game 2: Alabama vs Tennessee

Opening line: Alabama -7.5 O/U 65.5

This game is going to be very exciting. Alabama is coming off a disappointing weekend in which they barely made it out victorious. Alabama has a chip on their shoulder this week as they just lost their No. 1 ranking to Georgia. Tennessee is coming off a week in which they destroyed LSU to remain undefeated. Thus far, both teams are undefeated and have been elite. In this game, Tennessee is a +7.5 underdog, which is ridiculous to me as Alabama had a bad weekend. Alabama entered its last game as 24-point favorites and won by four. They couldn’t get anywhere near their season average of 40 ppg. Tennessee has a great defense that forces takeaways and executes at making stops in the red zone. The public is all over this Tennessee spread as it has received 78% of the bets and 60% of the money. I love this pick here as I rarely ever fade Nick Saban.

Pick: Tennessee +7.5 (-110)

Game 3: Iowa State vs Texas

Opening line: Texas -17 O/U 49.5

This game is going to be sweet to watch for Texas fans, as ISU has gotten the best of them for the past couple years. ISU has one of the worst offenses in the country, while Texas has one of the best. In college football, dynamic offenses win games. Texas can put up 40 points as they average more than 35 points a game. ISU has hit the 20-point mark twice this season. One of them was a loss. This past weekend, ISU failed to score a touchdown against Kansas State. Let’s bet the hot hand here and roll with a strong Texas team. UT played a competitive football game against Alabama a few weeks ago, along with a dominating win against Oklahoma where they shut them out. The public sided with ISU due to their defense, but the defense won’t matter in this game as Texas is strong on both sides of the ball. I have Texas winning by at least three touchdowns.
