NCAA Football Predictions: Week 6 Report, Best Bets and Picks
Let’s look for this college football Week 6 to be an exciting one. There are so many juicy matchups that people are just salivating over. We have major rivalry matchups, as there are well over a handful of teams that remain undefeated in this new season. We will see if they will continue the quest for the perfect season or will reality strike this weekend.
Let’s get started right away as lines have been moving quickly. Down below we are covering three of the most exciting games of the week that every college football fan and bettor will have their eyes on. It’s important that you take these lines early as the market has been adjusting extremely fast. There are other primetime games that we could’ve covered, but we looked for the best possible edges in the market and this is what we came up with. Nothing to complain about here.
Doc’s Sports offers college football picks for every game on our college football predictions page.
Game 1: Texas vs Oklahoma
Opening line: Texas -2.5 O/U 62.5
This game opened up as Texas favored by 2.5 points over Oklahoma. Big bettors have been targeting the Texas line. The line has been pushed all the way to -7, which is still a very buyable line. The Public has placed 87% of the money and 69% of the bets on Texas so far. This makes sense as Oklahoma got destroyed by TCU this past weekend. Texas has a pass-heavy offense that averages almost 10 yards per attempt, which averages to a first down. Oklahoma’s Dillon Gabriel exited the game early last week with a head injury and he remains in concussion protocols for this week. Damond Harmon is also dealing with an injury that can potentially keep him out of this week's game. Jump on this line before the rest of the public starts placing bets on this line. It’s a very profitable line at this point. Texas will cover this.
Pick: Texas -7 (-110) or better
Game 2: Texas A&M vs Alabama
Opening lines: Alabama -14.5 O/U 56.5
Alabama has had major offensive success in the past weeks, but I’m pretty sure they’ll get it together here. Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M handed Nick Saban his only loss of the regular season in the previous year, so this makes it out to be a revenge spot for Alabama. This is SEC football, which Saban takes very seriously. Alabama is 5-0 and remains undefeated in the regular season. They have an ATS record of 4-1 on the season, only failing to cover a 21-point spread against a good Texas Longhorns team. All the spreads they covered were greater than -17.5. They are dominating and beating all their opponents by three scores or more. I’m taking the spread on Alabama as they look unstoppable. They are the No. 1 team in the nation, and they’re going to continue to prove it this week with a dominating performance over Texas A&M.
Pick: Alabama -24 (-110) or better
Game 3: TCU vs Kansas
Opening Lines: TCU -5.5 O/U 67.5
This game is juicy in my eyes. Kansas has been an extremely overachieving team. They are 5-0 ATS and 3-0 as underdogs winning outright. This team has been good, honestly, but this comes to an end this week. With College GameDay heading to Kansas for this matchup, I expect the moment to be too big for Kansas. This football team is not used to this much attention. They remain undefeated and now they have a target on their backs. TCU just destroyed Oklahoma, which has a great football program. TCU is only favored by 7 points, which is phenomenal. I will be taking this line as TCU looked polished and unstoppable last week. TCU will look to gain momentum as they come out of Kansas with a win on national television. The public has placed 62% of the bets and 84% of the money on TCU to cover this spread. We will back them up on this one.
Pick: TCU -5.5 (-110) or better
