NASCAR Cup Series Championship

We have finally arrived at the culmination of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series. We have finally reached the moment where a winner will be crowned after surprising comebacks, dominating performances and incredible crashes. While there was a great deal of excited throughout the entire season, these last several weeks have proved to be the most dramatic of all the schedule. For many years, NASCAR has crowned a champion at Homestead-Miami Speedway, but Phoenix Raceway was chosen as the new location for the final battle just two seasons ago. Avondale, AZ is the home of this weekend’s race, and this track is defined as a D-shaped oval with nine to 11 degrees of flat banking in the corners. There are very fast straightaways that come off of the sweeping corners. In my opinion, it is a very fitting ending to an incredible season because of this unique track.

Because this track is so unique, there might be a unique set of drivers that will be pushing for win this weekend. In the Arizona head of the desert, there are some drivers that dominate on the flat oval, while there are some drivers that would prefer to race at any other location. Of all the themes we face this weekend, there is one thing for sure, and that is that there are four drivers in a dead heat trying to win a championship. We've got Ross Chastain, Chase Elliott, Christopher Bell and Joey Logano left in the chase and they'll all be starting with 5,000 points. As for this one, the stakes have never been higher. As these last two weeks has revealed to us, anything can happen, and this race should be highly competitive.

Everyone should tune in this weekend because it's going to be a great one, and a great way to end the season.

With one more miracle to pull off, Christopher Bell was able to walk away with the win last weekend. That said, Ross Chastain had a show stopping move that left race fans picking up their jaws off the ground. This was the second time in as many races that Christopher Bell won a race that he had to have to advance. He was able to beat the pole winner in Kyle Larson by 0.869 seconds after starting in the 20th spot.

Ross Chastain, however, had the moment of the day. He was running in the 10th position and was facing elimination before he stuck his car to the outside wall coming into turn 3 and left the throttle wide open as he ran his car around the fence. This was enough to launch him past Denny Hamlin, knocking him out of the Championship 4 and cementing his spot in the final round.

With the final race of the season approaching, Joey Logano, Christopher Bell, Ross Chastain and Chase Elliott will be the four drivers fighting for the championship trophy. All four drivers will start with 5,000 points and will be ready to fight for their opportunity.

I like Christopher Bell in this one and I'm basing it off his win in July at New Hampshire. It's probably the closest track to Phoenix. In addition, he finished second at Richmond in August which is also similar to Phoenix. His car is fast and if he doesn't let the pressure get to him, he might come out of this the winner. It's going to be a tight one no matter who wins.
