--The New York Mets are having a remarkable season and are crushing right-handed pitching, averaging 5.3 RPG and sporting a 29-12 record vs. RH starters.

--How bad is the Detroit Tigers' offense? They are averaging a brutal 2.8 RPG, which is 0.5 runs lower than the next worst team (Pittsburgh at 3.3). To put that in perspective, the league average is 4.3 RPG, which means the Tigers have scored 93 total fewer runs after 62 games than the AVERAGE MLB team!

--In losing 17 of 19, the L.A. Angels tallied three or less runs 11 times in defeat when having Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani on the roster.

Boston has turned their season around. And though they are very unlikely to catch the New York Yankees in the AL East, they have themselves back in wild-card contention. The Red Sox right-hander has not been able to stay healthy, but this season he has, and Boston has won seven of his 10 starts. Wacha will have extra motivation, facing his former team, St. Louis. The Cardinals have played solid baseball but have benefited from a Milwaukee slump to be in a battle for first place in the NL Central. The Redbirds will have 40-year-old Adam Wainwright toeing the rubber first, and he has an amazing 2.84 ERA, proving you can get guys out without just throwing hard. After a lackluster 3-9 start at Fenway Park, the Red Sox have caught fire at home and knock off the Cards to start the weekend series.
