The first third of the regular season of college football is in the books, as this Saturday is Oct. 1. The first three college football teams in the rankings are the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide and Ohio State Buckeyes. According to ESPN’s Power Index, those three teams have a minimum 24.2% opportunity to win the rest of their games.

The top US sportsbooks such as FanDuel and DraftKings have their odds set to +200 for Alabama and Georgia to prevail as college football national champions. Caesars has listed Ohio State as the third-favorite at +265 to win the national title.
The contenders in the game are led by the Clemson Tigers. FanDuel and PointsBet both have Clemon at +1600 to win the national college football championship. The USC Trojans are touted has +1600 by BetMGM.
The Tennessee Volunteers and Utah Utes are the best new thing when discussing the national championship. The Oklahoma Sooners and Michigan Wolverines are old hat when the topic rolls around.

Michigan Wolverines
Michigan has the road game against Ohio State to end the regular season. The Wolverines might represent of East Division in the Big Ten Conference Championship and win. However, they would come into the first round of the national playoffs as double-digits underdogs.
Utah Utes
The Utes have to be lucky as well as good against USC on Oct. 15. They also have to prevail against Oregon on the road Nov. 19. If Utah finishers out the regular season in style, the team might be favored in the Pac-12 Conference Championship.
Tennessee Volunteers
Tennessee has a home game against Alabama on Oct. 15 and a road game against Georgia on Nov. 5. If the Volunteers are still in first place in the East Division the of SEC by late November, then miracles do exist.
Penn State Nittany Lions
Penn State has a road game against Michigan on Oct. 15 and a home game against Ohio State on Oct. 29. The Nittany Lions are not lucky enough to play both of these games and win.
North Carolina State Wolfpack
