Chris Gotterup Odds to Win Barbasol Championship, PGA Picks & Predictions
On Thursday we’ll see the 2022 version of the Barbasol Championship and in this event, we’ll expect to see some pretty low scores throughout the weekend. Since 2018 when the tournament moved just outside of Lexington, KY, every golfer that has won this event has broken 20 under par. Every golfer that made the cut last season shot under par and there were several golfers that shot under par that didn’t make the cut. This is an event that is co-sanctioned by the European Tour and invities players that were rated top-50 on the European Tour go invitations.
Chris Gotterup is one of the favorites in the Barbasol Championship with 20-1 odds going into the weekend. The Oklahoma Sooner turned pro this year and is already making his mark on the PGA Tour, being a favorite this weekend. Being that he just turned pro, there isn’t a lot of data out there on him, but there are somethings that you should know about Gotterup going into this weekend.
While in college, Gotterup won both the Jack Nicklaus award and the Haskins Award being the top golfer in college this year. He transferred colleges from Rutgers to Oklahoma for one more season of golf (5th) where he finished at the top of both the Golfweek/Sagarin and Golfstat rankings. His ball striking is one of his strengths and looks to be as ready for the “big leagues” as any college golfer could be.
