NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 3: Advice and Predictions
There is no need to sugar-coat anything. The nine early games on Sunday stunk. They were extremely boring, and nothing worth noting happened. Thankfully, the four late afternoon games more than made up for it as we saw extremly high-scoring contests, missed field goals and a crazy comeback which resulted in an OT win. The Sunday-nighter capped the day with a thrilling affair between Kansas City and Baltimore, while the Monday Night contest was decent for around 30 minutes. Looking ahead to this week, we should have a much better slate of games throughout the day, and I’m looking forward to settling in for another 12 hours of football.

Here are my NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 3 from strongest to weakest. The team I list first is my selection.
Denver Broncos over New York Jets: Any bet against the Jets is a good bet. The Broncos have shown the ability to be good on both sides of the football through two games and now get to face their second rookie quarterback in two weeks. I think this is the safest choice on the board.
Las Vegas Raiders over Miami Dolphins: This is another safe selection for Week 3. The Dolphins are hobbled at QB, with Tua getting knocked out of last week’s game vs Buffalo. If he can go, he likely won’t be 100 percent. And if he doesn’t play, the Dolphins will be stuck with Jacoby Brissett. The Raiders have momentum after two solid wins and should be getting to 3-0 this year.
Baltimore Ravens over Detroit Lions: The Ravens were gifted the game on Sunday night against the Chiefs. But they are still better than the Lions, who fought hard for 30 minutes on Monday against the Packers but then were shut out in the second half. We saw what the Packers rushing attack did to the Lions, and the Ravens are even better at running the ball. This game won’t be close. Take the Ravens.
Carolina Panthers over Houston Texans: Again, any bet against the Texans right now is a good play. They held the Browns close for a bit but ultimately lost by 10. The Panthers seem to be the real deal in the NFC South after holding the Saints to just seven points. They are better on both sides of the ball and should get the win here.
Arizona Cardinals over Jacksonville Jaguars: This could be a trap game for the Cardinals, but I don’t see them dropping this one to the lowly Jaguars. The Cardinals could put up 40 points easily if they come to play, and we don’t see the Jags keeping up with that offensive output.
Atlanta Falcons over New York Giants: This should be a very winnable game for the Falcons. They have the better offense, and the defense can’t play any worse than it did vs the Bucs (which was expected). The Giants let their Week 2 game against the Football Team get away from them and with very little momentum, I see the Falcons pulling off the upset.
New Orleans Saints over New England Patriots: We knew the Patriots were not going to lose to the Jets. But now against the Saints, who are in need of a bounce-back performance, the Patriots are the second-best team on the field. The Saints have better weapons and a proven QB under center, and we see them pulling off the minor upset here.
Cleveland Browns over Chicago Bears: Both teams got their first win of the season last week, but we see the Browns being the better team all around. They should be able to score points at will against an overrated Bears’ defense, and we don’t see Andy Dalton (or Justin Fields) doing much against a good Browns’ defensive unit.
Pittsburgh Steelers over Cincinnati Bengals: Just when you thought both of these teams could build off of solid Week 1 wins, they both produce stinkers in Week 2. The Steelers’ offense still looks pathetic, while the Bengals were always going to go through growing pains. I think the Steelers’ defense will be the difference in this matchup, though.
Tennessee Titans over Indianapolis Colts: The Titans were left for dead after falling behind 30-16 in the fourth quarter last week. They rallied and got their season kick-started with a big OT win against a good Seattle team. They should be able to handle a Colts squad that hasn’t shown much of anything over the first two weeks.
Buffalo Bills over Washington Football Team: The Bills were aided by the injury to Tua in the Week 2 win against the Dolphins. However, the fact that the offense finally came to life was a good sign. They should have enough firepower on offense to score on a Washington defense that let the Giants score 29 on them on Thursday.
Kansas City Chiefs over Los Angeles Chargers: This could be the game of the week if both teams show up and give us what we expect to see; points. The Chiefs gave away the game vs the Ravens with a costly fumble, while the Chargers somehow found a way to lose to the Cowboys. Both teams are suspect on defense, so we expect points, and we see KC edging this one. However, we don’t recommend using this as a survivor pick.
Minnesota Vikings over Seattle Seahawks: Both teams are coming off heartbreaking losses. The Vikings missed a chip-shot field goal, while the Seahawks blew a 14-point fourth-quarter lead. On paper, the Seahawks’ offense should be the difference in this one, but I think Dalvin Cook is going to carve up the Seahawks’ defense. Give me Minnesota at home.
Los Angeles Rams over Tampa Bay Buccaneers: This is going to be a really good game. I would not pick this game with a 10-foot pole, however. These two teams are extremely close, and I think the Rams’ defense will get them over the line in this one.
Green Bay Packers over San Francisco 49ers: The Packers bounced back with a win vs the Lions, while the Niners got to 2-0 after beating the Eagles. I think the Packers are the better team from top to bottom and will want revenge from the 2019 NFC Title Game.
Dallas Cowboys over Philadelphia Eagles: This is a game only bettors and NFC East fans will care about. The Cowboys got to 1-1, while the Eagles fell to 1-1. This is a huge division matchup, and we see the Cowboys pulling out the win, but just barely. Definitely not a good Survivor selection.
