NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 15: Advice and Predictions
“Yuck.” That was the first word I said when I saw this Week 15 card. As I slowly went through each one of the games, several other words came to mind, and not one of them was positive. This card stinks. You have some good opportunities on Thursday and Saturday, but the Sunday/Monday night card is one of the worst I’ve seen this year. Nonetheless, let’s try and make the best of it, but remember, if you don’t LOVE a play, don’t force it.

Week 15 Survivor Selections
Kansas City Chiefs over Los Angeles Chargers: I think the Chiefs are quickly becoming one of the best teams in the NFL. I understand how ludicrous that statement is, but they’ve gone from 2-3 to 9-4 in a hurry. This is a measuring stick game for the Chargers, but I see the Chiefs getting an extra stop on defense.
Cleveland Browns over Las Vegas Raiders: It’s been a while since the Raiders showed any sort of life. They were embarrassed last week vs the Chiefs and now have another game on the East Coast. The Browns are back in the hunt for a wild card spot, and I say they do enough this week to win their second in a row.
Indianapolis Colts over New England Patriots: This is going to be an intriguing matchup. The Colts have the run game needed to attack the Patriots’ defensive weakness, and I think the Colts will succeed at doing so. It’s not every day do you see a 9-4 team on a seven-game winning streak listed as underdogs. The Colts are the more desperate team, so I’m rolling with them.
Buffalo Bills over Carolina Panthers: Despite playing a terrible first half against the Bucs, the Bills fought back and were completely jobbed of a win. They should be pissed off and desperate enough to defend home-field against the woeful Panthers.
Jacksonville Jaguars over Houston Texans: Nobody… I repeat, NOBODY should willfully watch this game. The only people who will tune in are those who have money on it. And even then, I question your sanity. Either way, I’ll take the Jags, because… why not.
Pittsburgh Steelers over Tennessee Titans: I don’t know why, but this seems like the type of game the Steelers win after no-showing on Thursday against the Vikings. The Titans are still 9-4 and in control of the AFC South, so the Steelers may show a little more desperation here to try and get into the wild-card race.
Arizona Cardinals over Detroit Lions: The Cardinals were humbled quickly on Monday night as they were beaten by their division rivals, the Los Angeles Rams. Now they must rebound in a hurry. And what better way to do so than taking on the Lions, who were brought right back down to earth with a lopsided loss in Denver.
Miami Dolphins over New York Jets: The Jets are a really bad football team. They lack any sort of direction, and now their go-to receiver is likely missing his second straight game with a quad injury. The Dolphins are somehow still alive for a wild card spot, and I see them getting the win on their home turf.
Dallas Cowboys over New York Giants: I loved the Cowboys last week as they went into Washington and came away with an easy win. Now they visit MetLife Stadium and take on the 4-9 Giants. I say the Cowboys essentially lock up the division title this week with a win.
Philadelphia Eagles over Washington Football Team: Speaking of the lowly NFC East, the Eagles are off a win vs the Jets but that’s not really impressive. The Football team is likely without Heinicke under center. Therefore, by default, and by way of a real starting quarterback, we are taking the Eagles.
Cincinnati Bengals over Denver Broncos: The Bengals lost a very winnable game last week against the Niners and are now fighting with these very Broncos (among other teams) for one of the final wild card spots. I knew the Broncos would beat the Lions, but the Bengals are a step up in class, and I see the Bengals offense being too much for the Broncos to keep up with.
San Francisco 49ers over Atlanta Falcons: Both teams are coming off big wins last week, but it is the Niners who currently occupy one of the three wild card spots. The Falcons are on the outside looking in, but they are tied with Washington, Minnesota, Philadelphia, and New Orleans, all at 6-7. I think the Niners have more talent, and I don’t trust the Falcons on the road.
Los Angeles Rams over Seattle Seahawks: The Rams put a good whooping on Arizona last week and should have no issues doing so against a bad Seahawks team. Normally, these two teams play each other close, but the Rams defense will feast on the Seahawks’ feeble offensive line.
Green Bay Packers over Baltimore Ravens: This game could have been good. However, with Jackson questionable to play with an ankle injury, I see the Packers rolling to an easy win no matter who the QB for Baltimore is. A little added incentive for the Packers is the fact that with Arizona’s loss on Monday night, the Packers now own the best record in the NFL and more importantly, the No. 1 spot in the NFC.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers over New Orleans Saints: The Bucs were lucky to escape Buffalo with a win but should have an easier time against a bad Saints team. Similar to the Packers, the Bucs are fighting for the No. 1 seed in the NFC, and a win here is needed to keep pace.
Minnesota Vikings over Chicago Bears: The Bears put up a valiant fight at Lambeau Field on Sunday but ultimately fell short. The Vikings blew out the Steelers behind the return of Dalvin Cook, and I see more of the same this week as the run game will be needed in poor weather in Chicago.
