Free NBA Picks Wednesday, January 15 and Opening Line Report

Wednesday's NBA slate has some real good action between the Nets and 76ers , Spurs and Heat along with that Raptors and Thunder . The 76ers and Heat are almost impossible to defeat at home, while the Raptors look to upset the Thunder on the road. Let's get right to it!

Pistons @ Celtics (-10.5, 217.5)

The Pistons have now lost three of their last 10 games and four of their last five. In their last three games, they've been home and lost all three to Cleveland, Chicago, and New Orleans. Those three teams, at home, had losing records, and now they'll travel to a Boston team that has won two straight games after falling in three straight. This one should be a piece of cake for the Celtics.

Key trends: Celtics are 35-16-4 ATS in their last 55 Wednesday games.

Early lean: Celtics, Over

Nets @ 76ers (-6.5, 219.5)

The Nets and 76ers might play a game where no key player is injured (outside Durant, of course). The Nets have won two straight games and have Kyrie Irving back on the floor, while the 76ers continue to struggle with two more losses on the road. The 76ers are awful on the road, but thankfully, they'll be home against the Nets, where they're unstoppable. The 76ers last two wins came at home, and this should be the same outcome.

Key trends: 76ers are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record.

Early lean: 76ers, Under

Spurs @ Heat (-5, 221.5)

Are the Spurs good again? San Antonio has won three of their last four games, with two of them coming on the road against the Raptors and the Celtics. Miami took back-to-back losses to the Nets and Knicks on the road and will be happy to come home again. The Heat are fantastic, just like the 76ers, at home. They'll snap the small losing streak and get back to their winning ways against the Spurs.

Key trends: Heat are 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400.

Early lean: Heat, Over

Raptors @ Thunder (-1, 215)

The Raptors have had an up-and-down January and just recently took a one-point loss to the Spurs at home. The Raptors last three games have been a two-point loss to the Trail Blazers, a two-point overtime win against the Hornets, and a one-point loss to the Spurs. It's safe to say they're staying in games. I'll risk it with the Raptors while the Thunder are starting to let loose from their unreal January.

Key trends: Raptors are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600.

Early lean: Raptors, Over

Wizards @ Bulls (-5, 227.5)

I'd highly recommend staying away from betting on this game and instead taking the over. The Wizards average 114.8 points per game and allow 119.9 points per game. Bulls games have been in the 110's consistently, and you could expect the Bulls total to grow in this one. If I had to pick a team, I'd take the Wizards as they've been a little more consistent. You'll get a good number with the Wizards being on the road.

Key trends: Wizards are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS loss.

Early lean: Wizards, Over

Pacers @ Timberwolves (TBD, TBD)

Karl-Anthony Towns is close to making his return to the hardwood but will not be ready for this one. The Pacers have won two straight and three of their last four, while the Timberwolves have struggled to defend against Houston and Oklahoma City. The Pacers shoot 46.9 percent from the field and will play a little more up-tempo against the T-Wolves. Indiana will win big and score enough for this game to go over.

Key trends: Pacers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Wednesday games.

Early lean: Pacers, Over

Hornets @ Nuggets (-12.5, 212.5)

The Hornets have lost five straight games, with the last three coming on the road against Western Conference teams. The Nuggets are home and another Western Conference team that the Hornets will struggle with. The Nuggets are fantastic at home and just defeated the Clippers at the Pepsi Center. Watch out for a double-digit explosion. The Hornets have to be tired with all of these west coast road games.

Key trends: Hornets are 7-19 ATS in their last 26 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.

Early lean: Nuggets, Over

Trail Blazers @ Rockets (-7.5, 236)

Russell Westbrook will sit out the game on Tuesday but be ready for action against the Trail Blazers. Not good news if you're a Portland bettor. Houston has found their groove winning four of their last five games with the lone loss coming against the Thunder in an emotional game. The Rockets will have to play a back-to-back, but with Westbrook sitting out, players will feed off his energy in the second game. Rockets win big at home.

Key trends: Rockets are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games.

Early lean: Rockets, Over

Mavericks @ Kings (TBD, TBD)

The Mavericks proved they belonged in playoff talk with a win against the 76ers at home, 109-91. Dallas had played five straight home games and will now play their first game on the road trip against the Kings that have won three of their last 10 games. The Kings have already lost their first two games on the homestand and have no answered on the defensive end. Good luck against Luka Doncic.

Key trends: Mavericks are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.

Early lean: Mavericks, Over

Magic @ Lakers (TBD, TBD)

The Lakers are playing like we all expected. The debate between which team was better in Los Angeles might not be such a debate anymore. The Lakers are on a nine-game winning streak and will face an under .500 Eastern Conference team at home. The Magic will be playing their third game on the road, and they've gone 1-1 thus far. East coast teams never finish above .500 on the west coast. Take the Lakers to win big against the Magic.

Key trends: Lakers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a straight up win.
