Free NBA Picks Wednesday 3/4/2020 and Opening Line Report
The NBA has some interesting matchups to look forward to on Wednesday. Luka Doncic will face off against Zion Williamson, while the Pacers will put their 4-game winning streak on the line against a Milwaukee Bucks team that got destroyed against the Miami Heat at home. The Heat will also stay home and put their three-game home win streak to the test against the Orlando Magic, who could be without Aaron Gordon for an extended time. Here are the early leans for Wednesday's NBA betting lines.
Celtics vs. Cavaliers 3/4/20 (+2, 215)
Just a couple of years ago, this was the matchup of the ages in the East. Now, the Cavaliers are a 17-win team playing the Celtics, who have won 41 games this season. The Celtics have played fantastic basketball as of late, winning seven of their last 10 games. Their last two losses have been by an average of 1.5 points. Jayson Tatum is ill and will be questionable for this game. Check his status before making a play. With or without Tatum, the Celtics will likely win this game.
Key trends: Celtics are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games.
Early lean: Celtics, Under
Thunder vs. Pistons 3/4/20 (+8, 215)
The Pistons have lost four of their last five games, while the Thunder have won four of their last five games. Detroit is finally home after a four-game road trip, where they went 1-3 straight up. The Thunder took a beating from Milwaukee on the road and they'll play the Clippers before this matchup. If the Thunder lose to the Clippers at home, they'll really want this game instead of dropping three straight. I'd take the Thunder on the road in this matchup.
Key trends: Thunder are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400.
Early lean: Thunder, Under
Pacers vs. Bucks 3/4/20 (-11, 222)
Victor Oladipo is likely going to be out for another game. The Pacers will miss him as they'll face an extremely deep Milwaukee Bucks roster. The Pacers have put together a four-game winning streak against losing opponents, but at least they're back to winning. Milwaukee took a beating against the Heat on the road, but it seems like that happens to every team this season. Take the Bucks at home against the Oladipo-less Pacers. The Pacers are beating bad teams not great teams like the Bucks.
Key trends: Bucks are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games.
Early lean: Bucks, Over
Magic vs. Heat 3/4/20 (-8, 218)
The Heat crushed the top team in the East at home by 16 points. The Bucks were without Middleton, but still, the Heat have been remarkable at home this season. Don't even think about taking the Magic, who have lost two straight and could be without Aaron Gordon with a knee injury. The Heat have won three straight at home since being upset by the Timberwolves. That was their wake-up call.
Key trends: Heat are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400.
Early lean: Heat, Over
Grizzlies vs. Nets 3/4/20 (-2, 25)
The Grizzlies are on a two-game winning streak after Ja Morant was called out on Twitter. Is it a coincidence? Probably. The Grizzlies demolished the Hawks on the road, 127-88 and this Nets game has the same feeling. The Grizzlies are fighting for that final spot in the West and will need every game they can get. This Nets game is a solid match-up for the Grizzlies and a game they can absolutely win. Ride the momentum in Memphis.
Key trends: Nets are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 0 days rest.
Early lean: Nets, Over

Jazz vs. Knicks 3/4/20 (+7.5, 219)
The Knicks just defeated a Houston Rockets team that was on a six-game winning streak. The Rockets literally looked like they took a day off against the Knicks and it backfired. The Jazz have been the most inconsistent team in the West this season, but they've won two games, which means they're about to go on a long winning streak. Nobody knows their identity, but we know one thing, the Jazz are dangerous when they get hot.
Key trends: Jazz are 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400.
Early lean: Jazz, Over
Bulls vs. Timberwolves 3/4/20 (-3, 228)
The Bulls upset the Mavericks on their home floor, 109-107. The Bulls had previously lost to the Knicks and Thunder before the win. The Timberwolves have lost four of their last five games and now both teams are 2-8 in their last 10 straight up. The reality is, the Bulls have plenty of talent over the Timberwolves, but sometimes they just can't put it all together. I think the Bulls ride the momentum after a solid win against the Mavericks.
Key trends: Timberwolves are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400.
Early lean: Bulls, Under
Pelicans vs. Mavericks 3/4/20 (-6, 237)
Both of these teams are coming off upsetting losses. The Pelicans lost to an Anthony Davis-less Lakers, while the Mavericks lost to the Chicago Bulls. One team will redeem themselves, while the other will have multiple losses. The Mavericks have played four straight games on the road, and it showed against Chicago. Dallas is now back home, where they're 21-11 straight up. The Pelicans are fighting for that final spot in the West and can really use this win but on the road, it's going to be difficult to beat the Mavericks. Luka Doncic and Zion Williamson will be a fun show regardless.
Key trends: Mavericks are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record.
Early lean: Mavericks, Over
Wizards vs. Trail Blazers 3/4/20 (-7, 240)
Washington has won two of their last three games, but those two wins have come against bad opponents. The Blazers haven't been great this season, especially without Dame Lillard, who is out with an injury. Portland played three straight games on the road and dropped two of them, while the Wizards will now play their third game on the road in a row. Take the Blazers as they head back home and look to get more comfortable offensively.
Key trends: Wizards are 16-33-2 ATS in their last 51 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
Early lean: Trail Blazers, Over
