Free NBA Picks Wednesday 1/29/2020 and Opening Line Report
Wednesday's NBA slate features six games with some sprinkled in value.
There is not a single game between two teams above .500. Favorites will be
heavy favorites. But will they be able to cover the hefty spreads? Here's
the breakdown and early leans for Wednesday's NBA slate.
Bulls vs Pacers 1/29/20
(-5.5, 222)
The Pacers are coming off a 139-129 loss to the Trail Blazers after
finishing a four-game road trip out West. The Bulls have surprised and won
three of their last four games, with two of those wins coming at home. In
the last two games, the Pacers have allowed more than120 points and have
also scored more than 120 points. The Bulls offense won't be able to catch
up to a Pacers team that is scoring lights out as of late.
Key trends:
Pacers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % below
.400.
Early lean: Pacers, Over
Pistons vs. Nets 1/29/20
(-3, 226)
The Nets are hanging onto a playoff spot in the East with a 19-26 record.
That wasn't what fans of Brooklyn expected. The Pistons are looking to inch
closer to that No. 8 spot with a win in Brooklyn. Both teams are 3-7 in
their last 10 games. The lone win for the Nets was on the road against
Detroit about a week ago. It's hard to beat a team twice in a week. Expect
the Pistons to make adjustments and defeat the Nets on the road just like
the Nets did to them.
Key trends:
Nets are 2-10 ATS in their last 12 games following an ATS loss.
Early lean: Pistons, Under
Grizzlies vs. Knicks 1/29/20
(+2, 224)
We almost got a chance to see Barrett vs Morant. But, of course, Barrett is
injured. The Knicks continue to watch as rookies that were picked one pick
before them become superstars. Morant will be another. Memphis will be two
games from .500 before their game at Madison Square Garden. They've won
eight of their last 10 games and have lost to the Celtics and Pelicans.
Those are two teams playing at a high level right now. Take Memphis on the
road.
Key trends:
Grizzlies are 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 road games.
Early lean: Grizzlies, Over
Jazz vs. Spurs 1/29/20
(+2.5, 230)
The Jazz watched their win streak snap after taking a 126-117 loss to the
Rockets, who were without James Harden and Russell Westbrook. Eric Gordon
dropped 50 points in his tribute win as the Rockets dominated short-handed.
The Spurs have now lost three straight games by a couple possessions each.
The Spurs are 20-26, but they're not playing poorly. They're just having
trouble finishing games. Still, Utah is different and will look to get back
in the win column after a small hiccup. Take the Jazz. It's the more
reliable option.
Key trends:
Jazz are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss.
Early lean: Jazz, Under
Thunder vs. Kings 1/29/20
(+2.5, 230)
The Kings had a long road trip where they were able to win their last two
games to salvage the trip. The Kings were winless before the two road wins
against the Bulls and Timberwolves. And if you saw any of the Kings game
against the Timberwolves, you'd know that the Kings really should've never
had a chance to win. They were down 17 with 2:30 to go and came back to win
the game in overtime. The Timberwolves are terrible. The Thunder's win
streak was snapped by Dallas at home, but they should be able to rebound
nicely against the Kings that really can't compete with teams above .500.
Key trends:
Thunder are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % below
.400.
Early lean: Thunder, Over
Rockets vs. Trail Blazers 1/29/20
(+4, 228)
Are the Rockets better without Westbrook and Harden? The Rockets defeated a
Utah team that has been unstoppable this season without their two
superstars. Eric Gordon dropped 50 and wiped out all the criticism that he
was washed. Westbrook didn't play because he was too upset about Kobe's
death, while Harden has a small injury. Portland has won two of their last
three games, with all three games being at home. This will be the Blazers
fourth game at home. And with Westbrook returning onto the court, there's
skepticism. Take the Blazers at home.
Key trends:
Trail Blazers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Wednesday games.
Early lean: Blazers, Over
