Free NBA Picks Tuesday 3/9/2020 and Opening Line Report

The NBA features nine games on Tuesday's slate, with some exciting games taking place. The Celtics will face the Pacers in an exciting duel between two premier Eastern conference teams, while the Magic and Grizzlies will play against each other while looking for potential playoff seeds in the bottom of their respective conferences. The Nets won their first game without Kenny Atkinson but now they'll travel all the way to Los Angeles and play the Lakers. Here are the early leans for March 10.

Celtics vs. Pacers 3/10/20 (+1.5, 217)

The Celtics have lost four of their last five games. Two were in overtime, one was a one-point loss, and another was a five-point loss. The Pacers, on the other hand, have won four of their last five games, with each game on the road. The road trip is finally over as the Pacers are back home. Indiana has a winning record on the road but also dominates at home with a 21-10 record. The Pacers haven't been great against the spread at home recently, however. Look for the Celtics to respond to their recent struggles and get the win on the road.

Key trends: Celtics are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up loss.

Knicks vs. Wizards 3/10/20 (-4, 227)

Can the Wizards make the playoffs? The answer is no. The Wizards had the Heat right where they wanted them in the 4th quarter but couldn't finish the job as the Heat pulled away late in the game. The Knicks have won three of their last five games but all of them have been at home. Now they'll go on the road to face Bradley Beal who has been incredible as of late. Both teams are 3-7 straight up in their last ten games Miami held the Wizards to 89 points but don't expect the Knicks to do the same.

Key trends: Wizards are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400.

Early lean: Wizards, Over

Cavaliers vs. Bulls 3/10/20 (-2, 230)

The Cavs have won their last two games after an overtime win against the Spurs. The Cavs spent their last five games at home but will now head on the road to Chicago. The Bulls have dropped four of their last five games with the lone win coming against Dallas by a two-point margin. I don't trust Cleveland at home and expect the Bulls to get the win at home. The Bulls have stayed in games but just haven't finished the job. They'll get it done in this one.

Key trends: Cavaliers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Tuesday games.

Early lean: Bulls, Under

Timberwolves vs. Rockets 3/10/20 (-13, 244)

The Rockets are playing like the Timberwolves! Houston has lost four straight games with three of them coming against bad Eastern Conference teams. Not a good look. Minnesota has dropped their last two games and have only won three of their last ten games straight up. The Rockets have to start figuring things out and won't be taking any game lightly. The loss to the Knicks started this disaster of a week. The Rockets at home, against the T-Wolves should be a no brainer at this point. I'd be all over the Rockets to turn things around.

Key trends: Timberwolves are 3-14 ATS in their last 17 games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points.

Early lean: Rockets, Over

Magic vs. Grizzlies 3/10/20 (-3, 224)

The Magic will continue their road trip at Memphis where they're 2-1 so far. The two wins came most recently against Minnesota and Houston. Both of these teams are fighting for the final playoff spots in their conferences. Memphis has won four of their last five games and have really destroyed their opposition lately outside the Dallas blowout. The Magic have dominated in their last two games too. This should be an interesting match-up. I'd lean Memphis at home as they look to get back over .500.

Mavericks vs. Spurs 3/10/20 (+3, 226)

Every day I'm astonished. Do you remember the last time the Spurs missed the playoffs? You might've not been born. But this team is not going anywhere close to the playoffs. The Spurs have dropped two consecutive games to Brooklyn and Cleveland after just escaping Charlotte. The Spurs find ways to stay in games against good opponents. The good ones, like the Mavericks? The Spurs can't hang.

Key trends: Mavericks are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record.

Suns vs. Trail Blazers 3/10/20 (-2.5, 226)

Nobody can figure out the Suns. This team looked like they gave up against Toronto, Golden State and Detroit and then they ended up defeating Portland and Milwaukee at home in convincing fashion. Now the Suns will take the road to face Portland after already defeating them once. Currently, Portland is allowing teams to score at will and the Suns are doing just that. If Portland is going to win this game they'll need to figure it out defensively. At home, the energy should be up and the defense should come to play.

Key trends: Suns are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.

Early lean: Trail Blazers, Over

Clippers vs. Warriors 3/10/20 (-8.5, 228)

The Clippers are healthy but that still didn't help them at "home" against the Lakers. Steph Curry is back with the Warriors and will present a problem for the Clippers in some capacity, however, he currently has the flu and is questionable for this matchup. Either way, the Clippers should rebound from the Lakers loss and get back to their winning ways. It's no secret that this team is one of the best teams in the West when healthy. They'll put on a show against a G-League Warriors team.

Key trends: Warriors are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games.

Early lean: Clippers, Under

Nets vs. Lakers 3/10/20 (-11, 223.5)

Kenny Atkinson is out as head coach for the Nets. Reports were that he didn't want to coach Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. It makes sense the more you read into it but this game would've been more exciting if Kyrie was playing against his former teammate. The Nets are a mess right now and even after beating the Bulls, they'll have to travel from Brooklyn to Los Angeles for this match-up against the best team in the world. I didn't say that. JaVale McGee did though.

Key trends: Lakers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win.
