Kawhi Leonard Los Angeles Clippers

There's a small slate of NBA games on Thursday night. We've got two games on TNT, including the most exciting matchup between the Clippers and the Rockets. A healthy Clippers team is fun, and it'll be interesting to see how the Rockets choose to defend the Clippers with such a short lineup. The 76ers have blown two leads against the Lakers and the Clippers, and they'll now face the Kings, who are 7-3 in their last 10 straight up. The Raptors and 76ers have a ton of injuries, and that could affect the outcome of these games. Here are the early leans for March 5 in the NBA.

  Nuggets vs. Hornets 3/5/20 (+4.5, 230 )

Denver has won three of their last five games after playing four of five at home. The Nuggets will now go on the road to face a Hornets team that just lost to the Spurs without Gregg Popovich as coach. The Hornets have lost their first two games on their homestand to Milwaukee and San Antonio but covered the spread in both games. Denver starts off slow in games and just took a loss to Golden State. They weren't able to come back after the slow start. I like the Hornets to stay in this game against the spread at home. Denver on the road is not nearly as good as them being home.

Key trends: Hornets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.

  Clippers vs. Rockets 3/5/20 (-1.5, 236)

The Rockets just lost to the Knicks on the road. They took the game off and lost. The Rockets won't take the Clippers lightly. The Clippers have won five straight games and have proved that when healthy, this team is the best in the NBA. You can't bet against a healthy Clippers team. The stats when Paul George and Kawhi Leonard are on the floor together is mind-boggling. Take the Clippers on the road. The Rockets are do or die and live by that three. Good luck rebounding, Rockets.

Early lean: Clippers, Over

  76ers vs. Kings 3/5/20 (-5, 219.5)

Again, the 76ers had a lead over the Lakers and lost the game on the road. That's twice where the 76ers lost a game with the lead on the West Coast. The Kings have won three straight games and are 7-3 in their last 10 games. I don't trust the 76ers on the road, and the Kings have won back-to-back games at home. I'll lean with the Kings in this spot as the 76ers have a couple guys injured at the moment, like Embiid and Simmons.

Key trends: Kings are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.

Early lean: Kings, Under

  Raptors vs. Warriors 3/5/20 (-10.5, 225)

The Raptors worked from behind all night against the Suns on the road but ultimately won, 123-114. The Warriors also had a surprising victory with a 116-100 win over the Nuggets. The Nuggets always struggle early in games and the Warriors took advantage of that. The Raptors ugly start against the Suns could be concerning, too. The Raptors could be healthy against the Warriors. Currently, the Raptors have been without Serge Ibaka, Fred VanVleet, and Marc Gasol. They're still getting the job done because they're the champs. Take the Raptors on the road.
