Free NBA Picks Thursday 2/6/2020 and Opening Line Report
As a reminder, the NBA Trade Deadline ends on Thursday, four hours before
any of these games begin. Please watch the deadline closely and make sure
there are no trades that could affect lines or your decisions before the
games begin. Each of these 10 teams have reason to make trades based on
where they are on the standings. Some are looking to rebuild, while other
teams are looking for a Championship contending team. Here are the early
leans for Thursday, February 6 action.
Magic vs. Knicks 2/6/20
(-2.5, 228)
The Knicks did a thing the other day. The Knicks fired their general
manager in Steve Mills two days before the trade deadline. That tells you
all you need to know about the Knicks functionality right now. Orlando has
been struggling, too, and will play a second game of the back-to-back after
playing the Celtics on the road. The Knicks have actually won two straight
games and have shown heart winning three of their last five games. The
Knicks get an extra day of rest with the Magic coming on the road. Can the
Knicks go for three straight? Crazier things have happened.
Key trends:
Knicks are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a road
winning % of less than .400.
Early lean: Knicks, Over
Pelicans vs. Bulls 2/6/20
(+3.5, 230)
The Pelicans have lost two straight to the Rockets and Bucks. That was kind
of expected. The Pelicans will beat up on poor teams but can't beat the top
tier. That's fine. They'll see a bad Bulls team that has lost three
straight. The Pelicans thrive in these spots. The Bulls are coming home
after an ugly three-game road trip. Take the Pelicans on the road.
Key trends:
Pelicans are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning %
below .400.
Early lean: Pelicans, Over
76ers vs. Bucks 2/6/20
(-9, 226)
The 76ers have been awful on the road. And when I say awful, I mean awful.
At least in terms of expectations. The 76ers have lost three straight
games, while Milwaukee has won nine of their last 10. The 76ers have lost
their first three games on this road trip, and a fourth game against the
Bucks won't be any easier. These have been blowout losses. Take the Bucks
in another blow out.
Key trends:
Bucks are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 home games vs. a team with a road
winning % of less than .400.
Early lean: Bucks, Under

Spurs vs. Trail Blazers 2/6/20
(-4, 232.5)
The Spurs haven't enjoyed their road trip to the West. Back-to-back losses
to the Clippers and Lakers is tough. But it was also expected. Portland had
won four straight before taking a 127-99 loss to the Nuggets on the road.
In Portland's last four victories, three came at home. They've played
exceptionally well at home recently and should bounce back nicely against
the Spurs, who are dying to get back home at this point.
Key trends:
Trail Blazers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 after allowing 100 points or more
in their previous game.
Early lean: Trail Blazers, Over
Rockets vs. Lakers 2/6/20
(-3, 226)
The Rockets were one of the four teams in a blockbuster trade that saw
Clint Capela traded to the Hawks. The Rockets received Robert Covington, an
explosive forward who could be a difference for the Rockets. I don't think
the Rockets are done making moves. They also received Jordan Bell for some
added length. PJ Tucker would be the center in a small-ball lineup for the
Rockets. Anyway, it's going to take time for this team to develop into what
Houston wants. The Lakers might make a trade or two before Thursday's
deadline, but so far, nobody has moved from the Lakers. Take the Lakers at
home. They're more of a sure thing at this point.
Key trends:
Lakers are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games following a straight up win of
more than 10 points.
Early lean: Lakers, Over
