Free NBA Picks Saturday 3/7/2020 and Opening Line Report
There are only six games on the NBA slate for Saturday, but we've got an intriguing matchup between the Grizzlies and the Hawks as two young studs take the floor to compete against each other. Also, the Kings will take on the Trail Blazers in a game that could help the winner move closer to a playoff spot in the West. Here are the early leans for March 7 NBA action.
Rockets vs. Hornets 3/7/20 (+6.5, 223.5)
The Rockets have dropped two straight games after a road loss to the Knicks and a home loss to a healthy Clippers team. Before these two losses, Houston was popping off a small win streak. The Hornets have lost three straight games, and they've all been at home. Look for the Rockets to get back on track and out-offense a good defensive team.
Key trends: Rockets are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 Saturday games.
Early lean: Rockets, Over
Jazz vs. Pistons 3/7/20 (+8.5, 214.5)
We always talk about how the Jazz are the most inconsistent, streaky team in the NBA. Utah has now won three straight games and they're currently dominating teams. The Pistons have dropped nine of their last 10 games straight up and don't seem to have a chance against the surging Jazz. The Pistons played four straight road games before their loss to the Thunder at home. Nothing changed. The Pistons still stink.
Key trends: Jazz are 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400.
Early lean: Jazz, Over
Nuggets vs. Cavaliers 3/7/20 (+6.5, 224)
Why do the Nuggets start every game so slow? Eventually Denver will not be able to get back into games. Again, the Nuggets escaped a huge upset by the Hornets and won, 114-112. The Cavs have lost four straight games against potential playoff teams. The Nuggets will be another playoff team. The slow starts have to stop, but this team is way more talented than the Cavs and must prove it Saturday night.
Key trends: Nuggets are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games following a ATS loss.
Early lean: Nuggets, Under
Hawks vs. Grizzlies 3/7/20 (-6, 226)
Trae Young vs. Ja Morant. I will always be excited for this matchup for years to come. Two electrifying guards who will be franchise players and develop winners in their city. Only one team can win, though. The Hawks have five players on the injury report, while the Grizzlies have none. The Hawks were comfortable at home, playing their last four games at home and going 2-2. Memphis played three of their last four on the road and won two on the road and the one game at home. I like the Grizzlies in this matchup.
Key trends: Grizzlies are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400.
Early lean: Grizzlies, Over

76ers vs. Warriors 3/7/20 (+2.5, 222)
Steph Curry is back with the Warriors. He's on a minutes restriction and still doesn't have many pieces around him other than Andrew Wiggins. But still, the NBA needs Curry. The 76ers have been awful all season on the road but pulled off an impressive 125-108 win over the Kings on the road. Maybe this team is starting to figure it out on the road. You still can't trust Golden State as Curry will only be playing about a third of the game. Take the 76ers on the road as things are starting to get clearer for Philly.
Key trends: 76ers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record.
Early lean: 76ers, Under
Kings vs. Trail Blazers 3/7/20 (-5.5, 229.5)
This is a huge battle for that 8th spot in the West. The Kings just got pounded by the 76ers on the road, while the Blazers dominated the Wizards. The Blazers have Damian Lillard back in the lineup, and Portland hopes that Lillard can drag the Blazers into the playoffs. The Blazers are 17-13 at home and just 11-22 on the road. The Kings are 13-19 on the road this season and 14-16 at home. There's value with the Blazers are home in this matchup. And with Lillard back in the mix, it's a no brainer.
Key trends: Trail Blazers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a home favorite.
Early lean: Trail Blazers, Over
