Free NBA Picks Saturday 2/1/2020 and Opening Line Report

Saturday's NBA slate features 10 exciting games. The Hawks will take on the Mavericks, but Luka Doncic might be sitting this one out against Trae Young and the Hawks. This would've been a nice battle between the two top rookies from last season. The Wizards will take on the Nets, with both teams looking at to nab a lower seed in the east playoffs. Bradley Beal was snubbed from the All-Star game and will make it a mission to get to the playoffs and prove his worth. The Cavaliers and Warriors will play each other, too. Both teams have a combined win total of 23 games. Both teams were championship caliber teams just a couple years ago. Here are the early leans for Saturday's Feb. 1 slate.

Timberwolves vs. Clippers 2/1/20 (-6.5, 224)

I don't even know where to start with the Timberwolves. They're on a 10-game losing streak and will now have to face a Clippers team that is likely extremely mad after losing a 20-point game to the Kings in their latest game. The Timberwolves can't play defense and don't play as a team. Take the Clippers at home. They're not going to lose another one like they did on Thursday.

Key trends: Clippers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.

Early lean: Clippers, Over

Knicks vs. Pacers 2/1/20 (-11, 214)

The Knicks will play shorthanded with Elfrid Payton getting a suspension for his role in the Knicks/Grizzlies brawl. If Myles Turner feels better and doesn't have an illness, the Pacers will be healthy as a team. A healthy Pacers team is dangerous. The Knicks won't be ready for this one after all the drama. Take Indiana at home in a blowout win.

Key trends: Pacers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400.

Early lean: Pacers, Over

Heat vs. Magic 2/1/20 (+1, 208)

The Magic have lost four straight games and took a beating from Miami on the road, 113-92. Sure, Miami plays much better at home, but a 20-point blowout also means Miami is that much better than the Magic. The Magic are still playing for a playoff spot in the East and can very well make the playoffs. But double-digit losses in their last three games doesn't give me any confidence that they can beat Miami this time around.

Key trends: Heat are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 Saturday games.

Early lean: Heat, Over

Nets vs. Wizards 2/1/20 (+1.5, 239)

Bradley Beal was snubbed from the All-Star Game. After the Wizards beat the Hornets behind an almost triple-double from Beal, he said that he's going to help the Wizards make the playoffs this season. The man is on a mission. Why not take Beal and the Wizards against a struggling Nets team. If they beat the Nets, Beal and the Wizards will be another game closer to the playoffs.

Key trends: Wizards are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games.

Early lean: Wizards, Over

Warriors vs. Cavaliers 2/1/20 (-2, 221.5)

These two teams have a combined 23 wins on the season. These were two championship teams just a couple years ago! The Warriors are 1-9 in their last 10, while the Cavs are 2-8 in their last 10. I guess take the home team here? The Warriors have been getting smoked on the road as of late.

Key trends: Cavaliers are 17-7-1 ATS in their last 25 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400.

Early lean: Cavaliers, Under

Hawks vs. Mavericks 2/1/20 (-5.5, 224)

Trae Young vs. Luka Doncic. Oh wait, nope. Luka is injured, yet again with an ankle injury. That hurts TV ratings. But it doesn't hurt Young, who just surprised the 76ers with a win at home against Philly. Trae is also a starter in the All-Star game. What a season he's having. Watch to see if Luka is out before making a betting decision but if Luka is out, take the Hawks.

Key trends: Hawks are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.

Early lean: Hawks, Over

76ers vs. Celtics 2/1/20 (-4, 219)

If you don't believe in home-court advantage, we can't be friends. The 76ers are pathetic on the road this season, going 9-16. Boston is 19-5 at home. Philly just took a really bad road loss to the Hawks, allowing 127 points on the night. Boston has won four of their last five games and have been destroying at home recently. Take the Celtics in a classic matchup.

Key trends: Celtics are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games.

Early lean: Celtics, Under

Hornets vs. Spurs 2/1/20 (-3, 222)

The Hornets have won one game in their last 10. That game was against the Knicks. If you think the Hornets have any chance on the road against the Spurs, good luck. The Spurs ended a three-game losing streak with a win at home against Utah and should continue win streak against a 16-win Hornets team that has no answers.

Key trends: Spurs are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.

Early lean: Spurs, Over

Lakers vs. Kings 2/1/20 (+6, 218)

The Kings are hot and cold all season. They've won three of their last four games, and all three games came on the road. The lone loss in those four games was a 20-point loss to the Thunder at home. The Lakers are 20-5 this season on the road by the Kings are 8-14 at home. The Kings are actually worse at home this season. Take the Lakers in what has the makings to be a blow out.

Key trends: Lakers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games playing on 0 days' rest.

Early lean: Lakers, Over

Jazz vs. Trail Blazers 2/1/20 (+5, 226)

Utah has now lost three-straight games after an amazing win streak of double digits. Portland has played solid basketball and won their last two games behind great efforts from Lillard. Utah is struggling on their road trip but knows they need to salvage it and get at least one win. Look for Utah to come out strong in this one and defeat Portland on the road.

Key trends: Jazz are 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 Saturday games.
