Free College Basketball Picks Thursday 2/13/2020 and Opening Line Report
Thursday's college basketball slate features a couple exciting conference matchups with the potential of some ranked teams dropping out of the Top 25 with losses. Iowa will travel on the road, where they've struggled, to play Indiana, while the Pac-12 features Colorado vs. Oregon in a double-ranked matchup. The AAC also has some exciting matchups that can change the standings over the weekend. Here are the early leans for Thursday's exciting matchups and top five game slate.
Iowa vs. Indiana 2/13/20 (-2, 149)
Iowa is beginning to trade wins for losses in the Big Ten. They've gone 2-2 in their last four games, with road losses to Maryland and Purdue and home wins against Illinois and Nebraska. Iowa hasn't won on the road since January 11 when they defeated Northwestern. Indiana is on a four-game losing streak after taking on a very hard portion of their schedule. A one-point loss to Maryland and three straight double-digit losses is a concern for Indiana. However, they've played much better at home this season, defeating Michigan State at home, 67-63. Look for Indiana to bounce back and beat Iowa at home. Iowa struggles away from home.
Key trends:
Hawkeyes are 17-35-2 ATS in their last 54 road games.
Early lean: Indiana, Over
Colorado vs. Oregon 2/13/20 (-4.5, 136)
This game will be the most exciting out of all games on Thursday. Both teams are ranked, while Oregon sits one game out of the Pac 12 lead behind Colorado. This game is as important as ever. Colorado can get some space at the top, while Oregon can steal first place from Colorado. Colorado has won four of their last five games and three straight after winning their last two games on the road, while Oregon has struggled lately with two straight losses on the road. Again, I like the home team to end their small drought. Oregon is the better shooting team. And at home, shots fall easier. It's just how it goes.
Key trends:
Ducks are 12-5 ATS in their last 17 home games.
Early lean: Oregon, Over

Wichita State vs UCF 2/13/20 (+3, 133)
Neither of these teams will be close to first place in the AAC, however, this matchup is between two teams with an above .500 record fighting for a better placement when the AAC Tournament begins. Wichita State was in a much better position three games ago. However, after three straight losses, the Shockers have bounced out of the Top 25. The Shockers lost to Houston, 76-43 but in the last two games lost by only one possession. That's an outlier. UCF has won two straight games after losing three straight before. Wichita State won the first meeting, 87-79. The Shockers had no problem scoring against this UCF defense that allows 66.7 points per game. I like the Shockers on the road to bounce back. More talent, more shooting, and they know how badly they need this win.
Key trends:
Shockers are 12-4-1 ATS in their last 17 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
Early lean: Wichita State, Over
Memphis vs. Cincinnati 2/13/20 (-7, 138.5)
This game has more at stake currently in the AAC. Cincinnati is one game out of the AAC behind Houston, while Memphis is 6-4 in conference and in the top four of the conference. Both teams are coming off hard-fought losses. Memphis took a two-point loss to USF, while Cincinnati took a one-point loss in OT to Connecticut. Statistics show that this game will be very close. Both teams average around 73 points per game and allow near 65 points against while shooting about 45 percent from the field. Both teams just played close games and are upset with the outcome. This game will be as close as it gets, but I'll take Cincinnati down the stretch at home. You don't really ever know what you'll get out of Memphis. Could have a stud performance or a dud performance.
Key trends:
Bearcats are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games.
Early lean: Cincinnati, Under
Washington vs. USC 2/13/20 (-3.5, 138)
ESPN2's 9:00 game will be Washington vs. USC. I wasn't sure if I should even talk about this game in the early leans because Washington has lost six straight games while USC has dropped their last three. But since the game is going to be nationally televised, I know people will be betting on this one. So here it goes. USC's last home win came against Utah on January 30, but Washington hasn't won a game since beating Oregon State. Washington's last road win came against Hawaii in a nonconference game. Washington is in danger of falling under .500, and USC should get the job done at home whereas Washington is not very good in road environments this season, especially in the Pac-12.
Key trends:
Trojans are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up loss.
Early lean: USC, Under
