Free College Basketball Picks Friday 1/24/2020 and Opening Line Report
There's minimal action on Friday, but there are still four games on the
slate that are intriguing to the public. A ranked Butler team has lost
three straight games and will need to defeat Marquette to stick in the Top
25. We've also got the Horizon League's first- and second-place teams
squaring off. Buffalo is
a small favorite
against a struggling Kent State, while Wisconsin will be road underdogs
against Purdue. Here are the early leans for Friday's matchups.
Marquette @ (13) Butler 1/24/2020
(6.5, 136)
Check this out. Marquette is unranked and is on a three-game winning streak, while Butler has lost three straight and is still ranked No. 13. Marquette's offense is far and beyond better than Butler's, but Butler's defense is one of the best in the nation. Marquette is led by Markus Howard, who is averaging 28.4 points per game. If he gets going, Marquette should be able to win their fourth straight.
Key trends: Golden Eagles are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Friday games.
Early lean: Marquette, Over

Wisconsin @ Purdue (-3.5, 113.5)
Purdue has had such a weird season. They've lost four of their last five
games but defeated a top ranked Michigan State team at home, 84-78. At this
point it's impossible to trust Purdue. Wisconsin has played good basketball
this season and defeated Nebraska last time out. The Badgers also beat a
ranked Maryland team at home, 56-54. Take Wisconsin in a defensive battle.
Key trends:
Boilermakers are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall.
Early lean: Wisconsin, Under
Kent State @ Buffalo (-1.5, 157.5)
In the battle of the Mid-American, Kent State will take on Buffalo to get one spot closer to the top seeded Akron. Kent State started conference play off with a bang but have since lost three straight while Buffalo did the opposite. Buffalo lost early and is starting to click now. Buffalo averages 80.3 points per game and also bring down 41.5 rebounds per game. At home, that can only help. Take the Bulls at home.
Key trends: Golden Flashes are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 road games.
Early lean: Buffalo, Over
Northern Kentucky @ Wright State (-3.5, 142.5)
If you're not into Big East basketball and want to watch a couple potential
NCAA Tournament teams face off, look no further. Wright State leads the
Horizon league with a 7-1 record while Northern Kentucky is 6-2, right
behind Wright State for first place. Wright State is 9-2 at home this year
while Northern Kentucky is 6-4 on the road. However, NKU is on a five-game
winning streak and tearing up the Horizon league. This is going to be a fun
game in the Horizon, but Northern Kentucky's win streak will finally be
snapped by a better Wright State team.
Key trends:
Raiders are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Friday games.
Early lean: Wright State, Under
