Doc's: We have been tracking the NFL betting results the entire season in terms of the betting public against the books. Following Sunday's final round of regular-season games, which side came out on top for the entire 17-week run?
RE: The books still posted a gain for the NFL. The last three weeks were in the black to close things out on a very positive note. Strong gains in the college ranks all year long made it an overall profitable run for the books this football season.
Doc's: Turning to the opening round of NFL playoff games in this weekend's Wild Card Round, which road underdog has the best shot at winning its game straight-up?
RE: The Bears could be under the most pressure facing the reining Super Bowl champs in their first playoff game in quite some time. However, most of the early money is pouring in on the Colts from both the betting public and a few of the wise guys. Indianapolis could be a small road favorite against Houston by the time this game kicks off on Saturday afternoon.
Doc's: For the third time in four seasons, the Clemson Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide will face off against one another in the national title game. Given the way that Clemson rolled over Notre Dame in Saturday's College Football Playoff semifinal matchup, does this give the Tigers the early betting edge for Monday's CFP Championship as six-point underdogs ?
RE: The early money on Clemson has dropped the line to 5.5 points at some books, which adds value to Alabama. If it does swing back to six or possibly 6.5, I would start to take a closer look at the Tigers.
Doc's: Conference play in college basketball is officially underway. Are there any particular matchups on this weekend's slate that have caught your interest from a betting standpoint?
RE: I have been touting Nevada the entire season as a legitimate Final Four contender, so I am interested to see how dominant the Wolf Pack look in an upcoming Mountain West matchup against New Mexico this Saturday. I am also interested in watching a few of the top teams in the ACC (most notably Virginia and North Carolina) to see how strong they look in conference play.
Doc's: You just posted your prop bet picks for this Sunday's 2019 Golden Globes on Doc's website. Can you give us your top play on the board?
RE: I like Bradley Cooper at +250 odds to win Best Director for 'A Star is Born', but my top pick for Sunday night's Golden Globes would be the +250 odds for 'Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse' in the Best Animated Feature category.
