Once known in betting circles as the Vegas Sports Informer, he decided to shift all of his energy into running a successful sports investment business from his home base in Las Vegas as well as from the Big Easy in New Orleans. Whether you are looking for a big unit play in Game 1 of the upcoming NBA Finals or the inside scoop on "Game of Thrones" betting props, his selection packages span one of widest arrays of betting options in the industry. Doc's gets the unique opportunity to pick his brain on some of the hottest trending betting topics each week in the world of sports.
Doc's: Milwaukee got tripped up in Sunday's Game 3 of its showdown against Toronto in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference finals. Do the Bucks bounce back on Tuesday night by taking a commanding 3-1 series edge, or do the Raptors take care of business on their home court in Game 4?
RE: I would go with the Bucks in Game 4. Toronto appeared to be a bit gassed in the first two games coming off the extended series against Philly, and going two overtimes on Sunday did not help the cause. Plus, you have to question if Kawhi Leonard is 100 percent.
Doc's: San Jose's 2-1 edge in the NHL's Western Conference Finals has quickly turned into a 3-2 deficit against the St. Louis Blues. Is this series still going the distance, or does St. Louis find a way to end things on Tuesday night in Game 6 at home?
RE: I had the Sharks going to the NHL Finals, but the bad loss in Game 5 at home sets things up perfectly for St. Louis to end this series at home in Game 6. Look for another big effort by Jordan Binnington in goal for the Blues.
Doc's: Things continue to heat up in a few of the early MLB Division races through the first quarter of the regular season. One of the more surprising results is Minnesota leading Cleveland in the AL Central. Can the Twins keep things interesting in this race all season long?
RE: Digging deeper into the Twins, I think this team is the real deal with the early plus 76 total in runs scored verses runs allowed. Cleveland is strapped with some pitching issues in both the starting rotation as well as the bullpen to add even more value to Minnesota winning the AL Central.
Doc's: We all know what a big MMA fight fan you are. Do have any thoughts on the PFL from a betting standpoint heading into this Thursday's PFL 2 on ESPN2 from Nassau Coliseum?
RE: This is the second season for the PFL, and it has been legitimized to a certain extent with this year's ESPN TV deal. You have to be steeped in MMA fighting to find the value in betting these fights. Most of the money coming in is by sharps who know these fighters from Day 1.
Doc's: The Memorial Day weekend is big for motor sports from Formula One's Monaco Grand Prix early Sunday morning followed by the Indianapolis 500 in the afternoon and NASCAR's Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte on Sunday night. Are any of these events on your betting radar for the upcoming holiday weekend?
RE: I am not a big Formula One fan and I moved away from betting NASCAR in recent years. I will probably still bet a few head-to-head matchups along with some props for the Indy 500.
