RE: This is a great way to start a new season. All four of these teams will be in the mix for a national title heading into March. As far as their season openers, I like Kansas over Duke and Kentucky over Michigan State

Doc's: The big game in college football on Saturday is the much-anticipated showdown in the SEC between the No. 1 LSU Tigers and the No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide . Which of these two teams stays perfect on the year?

RE: If the betting line holds at six points or less , I would consider betting the Tide at home. I am more interested in the "under" on the 65-point total line. I think defense is going to play a much bigger role in this game than most bettors expect.

Doc's: Moving on to the NFL schedule in Week 10, one of best matchups is next Monday night's NFC West tilt between 7-2 Seattle and the undefeated San Francisco 49ers. Is this the matchup that ends the 49ers' straight-up eight-game winning streak to start the year?

RE: I am not sold on Seattle despite the Seahawks' record. I am sold on San Francisco's defense as the real deal in the 49ers' perfect start. Playing at home, I would still lay the current six points and stick with the 49ers to keep things rolling.

Doc's: Can you give us your impressions of the early NBA results as far as which teams you would go with and/or go against right now?

RE: One observation is that TNT and ESPN are going to have to shift some games around that are no longer featured matchups, especially when it comes to Golden State. My early betting teams right now would be Phoenix and Miami with much better starts than expected. Teams to go against would be Brooklyn and Sacramento. Win or lose, my favorite NBA team to watch so far would be the Dallas Mavericks.

Doc's: The betting board is jam-packed this time of year. Is there anything else we missed that is one your betting radar heading into this weekend?

RE: As usual, I am dialed into some great boxing action on Saturday. Out in Los Angeles, the featured bout is a six-round cruiserweight matchup between YouTube sensations KSI and Logan Paul. You also have Saturday's UFC Fight Night from Russia on ESPN+ with a scheduled 11 a.m. (ET) start.
