Sports Betting Futures Odds: Tiger Tames Augusta Again, What Does Future Hold?
Tiger Woods, y'all…. The 43-year-old won the Masters for the first time in
14 years and for the fifth time overall when he triumphed last Sunday at
Augusta National. Now he can take aim at the rest of the 2019 schedule, and
perhaps even at Jack Nicklaus' major record. Meanwhile, the Stanley Cup
playoffs have been wild, and the 2019 NFL schedule is out.

Tiger Woods
To win the PGA Championship (+700)
- The comeback is complete, but how high can Tiger go? He won't have to
wait long to bid for another major title, as the PGA Championship has been
moved from August to May. It is being held this year at Bethpage Black in
New York, where Tiger won the 2002 U.S. Open.
To win the 2020 Masters (+900)
- Is it too early to start looking ahead toward the 2020 Masters? Of course
not! A players' form may be more important than the course heading into any
tournament, so it's tough to forecast, but at the same time there are some
horses for certain courses. Tiger, obviously, is just that at Augusta
National.
To break Nicklaus' record (+2000)
- Tiger's win in Augusta marked the fifth major of his career, putting him
three away from equaling Nicklaus' standard. Having previously not captured
a major since 2008, the currently world No. 6 seemingly had no chance. But
everything is in play now, with Tiger looking like the best golfer on the
planet.
To win exactly two majors in 2019 (+250)
- As well as Tiger is playing, it is just not easy for anyone to win a
major. It wasn't for Tiger last week. There are simply too many great
golfers near the top of the game, with too many playing well right now.
Remaining with one is a -350 favorite. Three is +2000 and the calendar-year
Grand Slam is +5000.
Stanley Cup
Vegas Golden Knights (+550)
- The NHL playoffs have been hard to fathom so far. Tampa Bay, which won
the Presidents' Trophy by a mile, got swept by Columbus. Calgary, which
started as the Western Conference favorite, trails Colorado 3-1. The Golden
Knights, who lead San Jose 3-1, are among those who could capitalize.
New York Islanders (+550)
- Speaking of surprises, the Islanders swept Pittsburgh in the Eastern
Conference first round. Even though New York may have been a slight
favorite with home-ice advantage, no one could have expected four straight.
Robin Lehner was one of the best goalies in the regular season, and nothing
is changing.
Columbus Blue Jackets (+600)
- The Lightning began these playoffs as an overwhelming Stanley Cup
favorite. Now the team that ousted them, Columbus, is near the top of the
chart. Dating back to the regular season, the Blue Jackets are 11-1 in
their last 12 games-with nine of those 11 wins coming by multiple goals.
Washington Capitals (+600)
- Perhaps the Capitals are restoring at least a little bit of order to the
playoff proceedings. Despite losing Game 3 to Carolina on the road, the
defending Stanley Cup champions still lead the series 2-1. Led by Alex
Ovechkin, Washington ranked fifth in the NHL during the regular season with
3.34 goals per game.
NFL Week 1
(BetOnline Sportsbook)
Green Bay Packers (+3.5) at Chicago Bears
- The 2019 NFL schedule was revealed in full on Wednesday. Right on cue,
Week 1 lines were released. This coming season begins with a Thursday night
showdown between NFC North rivals Green Bay and Chicago. The balance of
power in that division seems to have shifted toward the Bears.
Los Angeles Rams (-3) at Carolina Panthers
- Los Angeles will begin its NFC title defense with a road trip to Carolina
on Sunday afternoon. On paper, of course, the Rams are once again loaded.
Who knows what happened to Todd Gurley at the end of last season, but he
should start strong following plenty of rest in the offseason.
Pittsburgh Steelers (+6.5) at New England Patriots
- These two teams always play each other. Always. And
they rarely disappoint. Both teams head into 2019 with question marks.
Pittsburgh is now without Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown. Defending Super
Bowl champion New England is beginning its post-Rob Gronkowski era.
Denver Broncos (+3) at Oakland Raiders
- As usual, the opening week of the NFL slate features a duo of Monday
night contests. One pits AFC West rivals Denver and Oakland against one
another. The Broncos have a new quarterback (Joe Flacco), while the Raiders
still have their same quarterback (Derek Carr). Advantage who?
UEFA Champions League
FC Barcelona (+150)
- Quarterfinal action wrapped up this week, so now we're down to the final
four in the Champions League. Barcelona had no trouble disposing of
Manchester United by an aggregate score of 4-0, including a 3-0 home rout
in the second leg. Lionel Messi and company are also dominating La Liga.
Liverpool (+250)
- English Premier League squads generally struggle in this event, but that
was not-and is not-the case in 2018-19. Four EPL representatives reached
the quarterfinals and now two are through to the semis. Liverpool, which
tops the Premier League table, destroyed Porto 6-1 on aggregate.
Tottenham Hotspur (+400)
- Tottenham, which is third on the EPL table, advanced in far more dramatic
fashion. In a match that won't soon be forgotten, the Spurs "lost" at
Manchester City 4-3 on Wednesday but prevailed overall on away goals to
decide a 4-4 draw. A Premier League rematch takes place between those two
teams this weekend.
Ajax (+450)
- Cristiano Ronald won the last three Champions League titles before
transferring to Juventus prior to this season. He won't be winning another
one with his new club-at least not in 2018-19. Juventus went down to Ajax
3-2 on aggregate. Following a 1-1 home draw, the Dutch side pulled off a
2-1 road upset.
