Sports Betting Futures Odds: Greek Freak Has Bucks Off to Hot Start
One of the best months of the annual sports calendar has come to an end,
but November isn't so bad itself. NBA action is in full flight, with
Giannis Antetokounmpo leading the Milwaukee Bucks to a 7-0 record. College
basketball is soon to begin, while teams are battling for playoff position
on the college gridiron.

NBA Specials
Giannis Antetokounmpo to have more than 3.5 triple-doubles (-120)
- The Greek Freak already has one triple-double while averaging 25.0 points
and 14.2 rebounds per game. Assists are harder to come by, but the those
kinds of numbers in the other two categories, getting to four does not seem
overly difficult.
Larry Drew to coach the Cavaliers in 2019-20 (+150)
- Tyronn Lue did not last long in the post-LeBron James era. Cleveland got
off to a 0-6 stat and Lue got the boot, paving the way for Drew to become
interim head coach. The Cavaliers hammered Atlanta 136-114 on Tuesday,
improving to 10-1 over the past two seasons with Drew at the helm.
Kevin Durant to re-sign with the Golden State Warriors (+200)
- Durant becomes a free agent at the end of the 2018-19 campaign and Golden
State obviously has tons of money tied up in other players. He already
accomplished the main job two times over, too, with back-to-back NBA
titles. The Lakers are +200 co-favorites to sign Durant.
Kyrie Irving to re-sign with the Boston Celtics (+200)
- Irving told the Boston crowd that he plans to re-sign following this
season. That, of course, is easier said than done. The Celtics boast a ton
of young stars who are the franchise's future and will soon command top
dollars. The Knicks and Nets are +500 second choices.
To Make the Final Four
Duke (+100)
- No matter that head coach Mike Krzyzewski cannot keep many guys around
for four years these days. When his recruiting class includes forwards Zion
Williamson, R.J. Barrett, and Cam Reddish, fans won't even remember who
just left. Duke has made just only Final Four in the last seven years (won
it all in 2014-15).
Kentucky (+100)
- Kentucky is also even money to book a spot in Minneapolis. The Wildcats
were no kind of Final Four-caliber team in 2017-18, but they welcome
freshmen E.J. Montgomery, Keldon Johnson, and Immanuel Quickley to the
squad. Head coach John Calipari is due to end a streak of three seasons
with no Final Fours.
Kansas (+140)
- Kansas just barely got over the hump last season, having reached the
Elite Eight in each of the two previous years. The Jayhawks edged Duke in
overtime to punch a Final Four ticket before falling to eventual champion
Villanova. With freshman shooting guard Quentin Grimes, even a national
title is possible this time around.
Michigan State (+500)
- Death, taxes, and Michigan State advancing to the Final Four…. Or
something like that. Even when the Spartans are not completely loaded, head
coach Tom Izzo still seems to finagle his way to the promised land on a
somewhat consistent basis. Cassius Winston and Joshua Langford are back for
junior seasons.
College Football
Central Florida to go undefeated in the regular season (-160)
- The Knights went undefeated the entire way in 2017 despite failing to win
the National Championship. They should at least get though the regular
season unscathed in 2-18. A closing stretch featuring Cincinnati and South
Florida, though, is no guarantee.
Notre Dame to go undefeated in the regular season (+130)
- Notre Dame has not been as dominant as UCF, but it has defeated far more
impressive opponents (Michigan, Stanford, and Virginia Tech among them).
Given how bad Florida State is, the Fighting Irish's two remaining
difficult games are vs. Syracuse and at USC.
Tua Tagovailoa to win the Heisman Trophy (-275)
- Tagovailoa isn't just the best player on the best team; he's without
question the best player-period-right now. Alabama's star sophomore has
thrown 25 touchdown passes without being picked off a single time. Oklahoma
quarterback Kyler Murray is a +333 second choice.
LSU and the Saints to go 2-0 this weekend (+800)
- For a regular-season weekend, this is a big as it gets in Louisiana. LSU
(a +14.5 underdog) is hosting Alabama and the Saints (-2 favorites) are
welcoming Alabama to town. Those opponents are a combined 16-0. The Tigers
and Saints going 1-1 is a +130 favorite, while 0-2 is +150.
Shriners Hospitals for Children Open
Rickie Fowler (+1100)
- Golf's fall swing continues this week in Las Vegas, where Fowler leads a
decent field as the favorite. The ninth-ranked American, who is making a
rare appearance at this tournament, wrapped up the main part of his season
with back-to-back top-eight finishes at the BMW Championship and TOUR
Championship.
Tony Finau (+1100)
- Up to No. 15 in the world, Finau posted three top-eight finishes during
the FedEx Cup Playoffs and was one of the few Americans who played decent
at the Ryder Cup. The 29-year-old finished a respectable T16 at this event
in 2017, so he knows what he's doing at this course in the desert.
Jordan Spieth (+1200)
- You know things have gone downhill for Spieth when he has longer odds for
a win than Finau. It's true that Finau is playing well, but still…. Spieth
has slumped to 13th in the rankings, in part because he has not
delivered a single top-10 performance since the British Open in July.
Bryson DeChambeau (+550)
- DeChambeau improved from T36 at this tournament in 2016 to T7 last year.
Based on his 2018 play, he can expect an even better showing this time
around. The 25-year-old was No. 1 in the FedEx Cup standings going into the
finale at East Lake before getting passed by Justin Rose and Tiger Woods.
