Fire up the grill and pour yourself a 4th of July cocktail because it's one of my favorite times of the year! I know everybody gets excited for fireworks, family, and this year, a mid-day-of-the-week off! But also, don't forget, we get to watch some gross and hot dog overeating men and women!

Nathan's Famous 4th of July Hot Dog Eating Contest will be held Wednesday, July 4. It will be the 102nd edition of the Nathan's Famous 4th of July Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island, NY at the corner of Surf and Stillwell Street.

Last year Joey Chestnut won another 'Mustard-Yellow Belt', and that was back-to-back wins for Chestnut because don't forget in 2015 he was upset by Matt Stonie 62-60. And, yes, we are talking about number of hot dogs eaten in 10 minutes! On Wednesday, Chestnut will be looking for 11 out of 12 Mustard Belts and the No. 1-ranked eater in the world by Major League Eating (MLE) will look to hold off the No. 2 eater, Carmen Cincotti, and the rest of the field.

The Women's Championship is also up for grabs on Wednesday. And for the ladies, I don't see the defending champ missing out on another Mustard Belt. Four-time returning champion Miki Sudo will be dominating again, and last year she beat her record by eating 41 hot dogs in 10 minutes -- Michelle Lesco finished second with 32.5 hot dogs.
