2017 WWE SummerSlam Betting Odds and Predictions for Sunday PPV
The NFL Preseason is underway, and football is in the air at all the sportsbooks. However, this Sunday another event should cut through the football chatter. No, I'm not talking about "Game of Thrones", I'm taking about WWE wrestling! On Sunday night the biggest WWE PPV of the summer takes place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and I can guarantee the crowd will be rowdy, energetic and ready for some big spoilers.
Sunday's WWE SummerSlam is stacked with outstanding matches, and all belts are up for grabs. Twelve matches are on the SummerSlam card, and all the big names are scheduled to be at Barclays Center. We could see some major spoilers and surprise guests Sunday night. Most offshore books will take a bit more money on this PPV event because it's the biggest PPV of the summer, and the WWE suits in the back are usually tight lipped when it comes to this SummerSlam card. Offshore sports book MyBookie.ag was one of the first to post odds on all 12 matches this Sunday, and I can guarantee we will see some championship belts getting exchanged. Sunday's SummerSlam betting card has some interesting betting value, and I do see a plus-money wrestling cash coming Sunday night.
My WWE betting predictions have been profitable; at WrestleMania we went 8-3 and we hit with Naomi +145 for a nice plus-money winner. In my last 19 WWE PPV's I am 91-34 (73%), and if you are going to place some action on the SummerSlam card this Sunday I highly recommend betting them early because these moneylines move in the blink of an eye. SummerSlam should also set up some outstanding matches for the next couple of PPVs, and we could see some long storylines and maybe, just maybe, some surprise guests that could include other wrestlers or even some UFC fighters. Yes, I said we could see some UFC fighters, and I predict some outstanding rumors for WrestleMania in New Orleans.
WWE Tag Team Matches
The Miz & The MizTourage -150
The Hardy Boyz & Jason Jordan +110
This match was just added late, and for some odd reason I have no clue why
The Miz was added to this mix of wrestlers. With injuries to other tag
teams that left The Hardy Boys out in the cold this SummerSlam, it looks
like this match was forced into action just to fill in some time. With The
Miz able to keep his Intercontinental Championship belt no matter what
happens in this match, I see The Hardy Boys & Jason Jordan cashing this
plus-money ticket. Prediction: The Hardy Boyz & Jason Jordan +110 -
That is correct, my first SummerSlam prediction is a plus-money wager!!
WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship
The New Day -175
The Usos +125
This is one of the matches that has me excited, and this could steal the
show early. Most likely this will be the last match between these two tag
teams, so we should see an epic match! The New Day were the tag team champs
on Monday Night Raw, and on Sunday night they get the tag belts back but on
a different show. Expect nothing short of another classic tag match between
two great tag teams, and again we are looking to cash another New Day
ticket. Prediction: The New Day - and NEW Tag Team Champions!!
WWE Singles Matches
Rusev -250
Randy Orton +175
This feud in my eyes is kind of boring with no energy, and this match has
"boring" written all over it. Rusev hasn't won a PPV match since
Battleground in 2016, and if you do the math that is 14 months since a PPV
victory (those are WWE Superstar Kane numbers). Randy Orton has been on a
PPV losing streak as well, and on Sunday night I see Orton's losing streak
continuing. Prediction: Rusev -250, and it doesn't really matter who wins
this match because this storyline is over.
WWE Singles Matches
John Cena -225
Baron Corbin +160
Baron Corbin went from a possible next big push to stopping all social
media use. Corbin should get the 'W' because John Cena played a big part in
distracting him for a possible WWE Title match. Also throw in that Cena
will be leaving again to film the next "Transformers" installation, so it
wouldn't shock me to see Corbin give him the beat down in Brooklyn. Win or
lose, this match will involve a Cena beat down, and since he hasn't won a
SummerSlam match since 2010 I see him getting the victory. Prediction: Cena
and his cohorts take the victory but get a butt-kicking after the match by
the 'Lone Wolf'.
WWE Singles Matches
Big Cass -400
Big Show +250
Why is this match even happening? When this match is going I will either
flip the channel to ESPN MLB Baseball or grab a snack. Predictions: Has to
be Big Cass!
WWE Cruiserweight Championship
Neville +100
Akira Tozawa -140
Akira Tozawa beating Neville on Monday for the Cruiserweight belts was
shocking and pretty cool, and Sunday night I see him defending and winning
his Cruiserweight championship. No matter who wins this match, I see this
feud continuing and it would shock me to see the belt get exchanged
multiple times. Predictions: Akira Tozawa -140
WWE Singles Matches
Finn Balor -1000
Bray Wyatt +500
The biggest number on the WWE SummerSlam betting board and for good reason.
The demon will be out Sunday night in Brooklyn, and I see Finn Balor
winning this match and maybe just maybe getting back to the WWE
Championship storyline. I lost count on how many feuds Bray Wyatt has lost
since joining the WWE, but it's a big number, and you can add Balor to that
list. Prediction: Balor, and I'm not going to lie I miss the demon Balor!
WWE RAW Tag Team Championship
Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose -330
Cesar & Sheamus +220
This is probably the most interesting match on the RAW side of things this
Sunday night at SummerSlam, and the Shield boys could be in for some gold
after the match. The crowd has been loud for a possible Shield reunion, and
the suits in the back have been giving the crowd what they want lately.
Sheamus & Cesaro have done outstanding things as champions, but it's
time for a change and it's time for the Shield to have some gold around
their waists. Prediction: Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose -330, and I have
no clue how long Rollins and Ambrose will be champs but let's enjoy the
ride.
WWE RAW Women's Championship
Alexa Bliss -200
Sasha Banks +150
This WWE RAW Women's Championship match was supposed to be Bliss versus
Bayley, but Bayley got injured and in my eyes this could be a blessing in
disguise all the way up to WrestleMania. Follow me here! On Sunday night in
Brooklyn I see Sasha Banks winning the belt and maybe just maybe she turns
heel and feuds with her bestie Bayley and them two battle for the belt at
WrestleMania. What about Alexia Bliss you ask? She will fight Banks at the
next PPV, but Nia Jax gets involved. And after Bliss retains her title,
Bliss and Jax feud for a while. Predictions: Sasha banks pulls off the
upset at +150 and the Women's division gets very interesting on RAW.
WWE United States Championship
AJ Styles -600
Kevin Owens +350
The best wrestling match will be this one, and I can't wait to watch. I
don't see AJ Styles losing the belt Sunday night, but I do see some kind of
interference happening in this match. Add Shane McMahon in this match, and
with Hell in a Cell around the corner wouldn't shock me to see Shane and
Owns battling in a Hell in a Cell match. Another easy prediction: AJ
Styles, and I'm actually shocked this number isn't around -800.
WWE Championship
Shinsuke Nakamura -225
Jinder Mahal +160
I have been triple guessing my prediction for this match the last couple of days, and this WWE Championship match has too many question marks. I know it seems too soon for Shinsuke Nakamura to be a champion, and the crowd is pretty much over Jinder Mahal as champion, so this match could go either way. With that being said, I see Nakamura winning this match by DQ and Mahal retains the WWE Championship. Nakamura's title run is coming soon, but not this Sunday, and it wouldn't shock me if his title run starts in New Orleans.
WWE Championship Fatal Fourway
Brock Lesnar -400
Samoa Joe +330
Roman Reigns +380
Braun Strowman 8-1
Talk about some big guys in one match for all the marbles! Expectation for violence, mat shacking, and big awes in one match is though the roof, and I can't wait to watch this one. Rumors were flying that Lesnar could leave WWE and go back to UFC, and that is still a possibility. However, Sunday night I see Lesnar taking care of business and winning this 'Fatal Fourway'. The only other person I see winning this match is Samoa Joe because Joe has done an outstanding job since joining WWE, and I would be excited to see a Lesnar/Joe feud for a couple of pay-per-views. Most of the die-hard WWE fans can't wait to see a Lesnar-Strowman feud, but I see that feud starting around the Royal Rumble so again Sunday night it will be 'The Beast' coming out on top. Prediction: Brock Lesnar -400 and wouldn't shock me to see a UFC star in Brooklyn Sunday night. Just saying!!
