One of the year's four biggest tennis tournaments begins on Sunday at
Roland Garros, where Rafael Nadal is eyeing his 10th French Open
title. Roger Federer is skipping the event, thus making Nadal an even more
overwhelming favorite. Indy Car's biggest race of the season also takes
place this weekend with the Indianapolis 500.

French Open
Rafael Nadal (-120)
- Nadal has already captured 10th titles in Monte-Carlo and
Barcelona this spring. The King of Clay triumphed in Madrid, as well,
before finally falling to Dominic Thiem in the Rome quarterfinals. Nadal is
72-2 lifetime at the French Open but has failed to lift the trophy each of
the last two years.
Novak Djokovic (+300)
- Nadal's clay-court run this spring includes a 6-2, 6-4 rout of Djokovic
in the Madrid semis. Thus continued Djokovic's 2017 slump, which includes a
second-round Australian Open exit at the hands of Denis Istomin. Djokovic
reached the Rome final last week, only to get upset by Alexander Zverev.
Dominic Thiem (+750)
- With Federer out and other top players such as Andy Murray, Stan
Wawrinka, and Kei Nishikori struggling, Thiem has emerged as the third
favorite. The 23-year-old Austrian, who was a semifinalist at Roland Garros
in 2016, is 17-4 on clay this season with a title in Rio de Janeiro.
Andy Murray (+1200)
- Djokovic bagged his first French Open title last year . Murray, who lost to the Serb in the final, is still
searching for his first triumph on the red clay of Paris. It doesn't look
like this will be the year, because Murray is a dreadful 5-5 in his last 10
matches dating back to March. Wawrinka is also a +1200 fourth choice.
Indianapolis 500
(MyBookie.ag)
Scott Dixon (+500)
- Dixon will be looking for his second Indianapolis 500 title when he takes
to the track on Sunday. And he will be taking his place on the front line,
having captured the pole position earlier this week. Dixon, who lifted the
trophy in 2008, placed fourth in 2015 and eighth last season.
Will Power (+650)
- Power finished runner-up to Juan Pablo Montoya in 2015 before turning in
a 10th-place performance last spring. The 36-year-old is coming
off a victory at the Grand Prix of Indianapolis this past weekend and he
preceded that showing by finishing second at the Phoenix Grand Prix.
Fernando Alonso (+650)
- Alonso has not done much in Formula One this season (no Top-10
performances) and this is first-ever Indianapolis 500, but his debut is
already off to a good start. The 35-year-old qualified second and will
start alongside Dixon on the front line.
Helio Castroneves (+800)
-No active racer has more Indianapolis 500 wins Castroneves (three), but he
has not triumphed since 2009. He has five straight Top-10 performances this
season. Montoya, a two-time Indianapolis 500 champion (2000 and 2015) is
also +800 fourth choice.
American League MVP
Mike Trout (-160)
-Less than two months into the season, Trout is already favored over the
entire rest of the field to win AL MVP. The Angels' 25-year-old center
fielder is batting .342 with 15 homers, 35 RBIs, 33 runs scored, and nine
stolen bases. He is already a two-time winner of this award (2014 and
2016).
Miguel Sano (+600)
-The Twins' third baseman hit just .236 last season, but he belted 25 home
runs in just 117 games. Closer to his prime now at 24 years old, Sano is
batting .310 so far in 2017 to go along with 11 dingers, 37 RBIs, and 31
runs scored. He is a big reason why Minnesota is 24-18 and atop the AL
Central.
Aaron Judge (+800)
-Judge has taken the baseball world by storm in his first full major-league
season. The Yankees' 25-year-old right fielder, who stands at 6-foot-7, is
hitting .315 with 15 home runs, 30 RBIs, and 36 runs scored. He has also
stolen four bases. If New York keeps winning (26-17, first in AL East),
Judge will have a chance.
Mookie Betts (+800)
-Boston is off to a mediocre 23-21 start, and it may have to overcome rival
New York in the division if Betts wants to remain in the MVP discussion.
The 24-year-old right fielder is batting .281 with seven homers, 28 RBIs,
27 runs scored, and six stolen bases. He also has more walks (19) than
strikeouts (15).
Dean & Deluca Invitational
Jordan Spieth (+1100)
-Spieth melted down at the Masters on Sunday (what's new?) and he has been
a disaster ever since. The 23-year-old promptly missed the cut at The
Players Championship and did the same at last week's AT&T Byron Nelson.
On the bright side, Spieth is the defending champion of this Dean &
DeLuca Invitational.
Sergio Garcia (+1200)
- Garcia won the Masters for his first career major title, aced the island
hole en route to a T30 finish at The Players, and a Saturday 64 was the
highlight of his T20 showing at the Byron Nelson. The in-form Spaniard won
this Dean & DeLuca tournament back in 2001, and he has to like his
chances 16 years later.
Jon Rahm (+1200)
-Rahm has wasted no time making a name for himself on the professional
circuit since graduating from Arizona State. The Spaniard has made 20
consecutive cuts dating back to 2016, and he picked up his first career win
at Torrey Pines in January. Rahm has five Top-10 performances in his last
eight tournaments.
Matt Kuchar (+2200)
- Kuchar finished runner-up by one shot to Boo Weekly at this event in
2013. Close-but-no-cigar has been the story of Kuchar's career (he owns
seven PGA Tour wins, but could have many more). He has made eight of his
last nine cuts and was T9 last week. Paul Casey and Jason Dufner are also
+2200 fourth choices.
